Arkansas just lost one of its best pitchers to TJ

That sucks for them because you never know how the rest of the staff is going to react to being moved up a notch. He was their likely Friday guy, but even outside of that, it's a lot of innings to replace.

Are we relaying pitches to the catcher/pitcher on watches this season?
Yes I read that in an article last week.

This is a great thread Adam, all your hard work is appreciated.
It wasn’t that long ago that college pitchers who touched 90 with their fastballs were considered flamethrowers. It seem like most of LSUs staff is close to mid 90s, so they have the juice.
It seems what might keep LSUs staff elite as compared to say Tennessee is the lack of a pitcher with elite control. Tennessee’s ace only gave up 13 walks. Skenes, who is still considered the top college pitcher, gave up 30 walks.
Control is what separated Nola from all the guys who threw harder than him and is why he is an ace in the major leagues.
I’m looking forward to see who our closer is. There is nothing more frustrating than losing a lead in the 9th because your closer is walking people.
Is lack of elite control a relative weakness for this otherwise loaded pirtching staff? For those familiar with our pitchers, do we have anyone with elite control who can throw strikes when it counts? I’m looking forward to reading about the closers and see who that might be.
Fielding in the infield might be another relative weakness for this team.
I’ll give that up for the amazingly stacked lineup of hitters LSU can bring to the plate. While I appreciate great fielding, it’s the bats that create excitement. What a murderers row of hitters LSU has.
Big time props to our new coach for bringing in so much talent everywhere on this team. Getting consistent Friday night wins from Skenes will make teams win both Saturday and Sunday games to win the series, a tall task with the hitters LSU has. And their Saturday and Sunday starters are good too.
I have March 30 circled on the calendar when LSU hosts Tennessee. Tennessee pitching vs LSU batters could be a classic.

Anytime

Hurd is the starter who I'd lean on saying has the best control and might have the lowest WHIP. Cooper hardly ever walked anyone out of the bullpen last year.

On paper I agree. What will help is this new pitching staff will record more outs in strikeouts which puts less balls in play and less chances to screw up. Johnson has more options at 2B and SS than he did a year ago as well so we'll see what happens.

This is the big difference when it comes to defense this year, if somebody isn't cutting it there's plenty of other options

POSITION LOSSES:
Paul Gervase
Trent Vetmeier
Jacob Hasty
Eric Reyzelman
We’ll miss these guys but at least Vietmeier will have more time to spend with his grandchildren.

I have to pick a new "most likely to stab a guy in a bar fight" since Vietmeier is gone.

SEC Standings are fixed. I pasted them and realized one team in each didn't copy over
I think Florida is going to have a GREAT year and glad LSU misses them.
Arkansas and Miss St are going to have down years by their standards.
Kentucky will fire their coach at the end of the season.
Tennesse won't miss a beat with the best starting rotation in the nation.
LSU and Texas A&M on paper should battle it out for first place in the west which is a shame they have to play fricking opening weekend.

Adam. You have Kling twice on pro prospect list and no Gavin Guidry.

You have Jones twice as well.

Kling is eligible to be drafted in 2024 and is a higher prospect than Guidry in both the 2024 and 2025 MLB draft.

See above
Edit: If you're curious, Guidry was right outside the top 5 sitting at 6.

Adam, just a heads up you wrote 30-0 wrong.
ETA: Thanks for the Preview!

Based off their bio pics, Applebey has to be the front-runner
