Kaleb Applebey pitched today for Wabash Valley. Sat 92 with an 81mph slider.

Considered a top 5 juco arm and definite draft prospect.

Agreed and that hair. He looked way more focused and worked quick.

I remember he was constantly laboring a year ago.

Jake Slaughter saved us a bunch of errors playing at 1B.

Slaughter isn’t in the same league with Morgan

Yea slaughter wasn’t any where close to Morgan.

That being said I would like to see Morgan become a little more fundamentally sound around the bag. He makes it work because he’s an elite athlete but he makes things a lot more difficult than they have to be on a pretty regular basis.

He’s great, as good as we’ve ever seen, but he could be a lot better. It’s scary how good he could be.

Too many options in the outfield. This won't be settled for a while. I could even see Bianco being the third outfielder. His defense is perhaps better than Drost and Jobert. He could play CF and let Crews play his natural position RF.

I can see a lot different scenarios. One thing I am sure of, is whoever it is, they will hit. May the best bat win.

I could see Bianco in CF and Crews RF especially if they are going up against a lefty.

I was really annoyed with Mainieri for sticking with Bianco the first half of last year. I hope I eat a lot of crow.

Bianco was crapped on most of the year.... and he came thru after all of it.
Hope nothing but the best for him and I’d be fine seeing him at CF or 2nd.

Adam, I see where you listed Merrifield as a switch hitter several times. In all the times you’ve been out there in the fall and spring, how many times have you seen him hit from the left side?

I’m Bianco’s #1 fan but the criticism was fair for most of the year.

At the end though…

I was worried that Bianco would just never turn the corner. We'll have to see if he really turned the corner or just got hot. If he's turned the corner, he'll have to be in the lineup alot.

I feel like Drost may take another year of development, then be an every day guy as a junior and be really good. Super talent at the plate but maybe just not ready.

Gio is interesting. I was surprised that he returned. Seems like he is not our of the running at all for that 3rd OF spot.

It looks like the freshmen are battling each other for reps. Pearson is the offensive upside and Stevenson is the defensive upside. Neither will likely get bulk starts just yet but could see the field situationally.

Agreed.
Heard jay johnson on skips show last night and he said something that caught my attention. He said they have 4 guys who are studs who will start everyday in the lineup. Now maybe he made a mistake and wasnt thinking, but i always thought it was 5. Crews, berry, morgan, doughty, and dugas. But maybe dugas hasnt impressed as much
