Heard jay johnson on skips show last night and he said something that caught my attention. He said they have 4 guys who are studs who will start everyday in the lineup. Now maybe he made a mistake and wasnt thinking, but i always thought it was 5. Crews, berry, morgan, doughty, and dugas. But maybe dugas hasnt impressed as much
He may have been says 4 studs as in all-american's
If Dugas doesn't start then LSU will have the best team ever.

Adam is safe to say vs a LH that it would be Bianco at DH & Jobert in RF?

Interesting take on Beloso's decline. Most fans jumped on the loss of weight, and that was not the issue. I think we will actually have a DH that can hit over .300 and produce double digit HR's.

Yea if there's a lefty I don't see both Drost and Jobert in the lineup...whoever they feel more comfortable which at this time may even be Jobert.
Bianco is your best right handed hitter off the bench right now.

Having a hitting coach not lead by Gibbs, Ochinko, or Smith will do wonders.

This team is unbelievably stacked at the plate. Hopefully that turns into winning some games when the pitching isnt there just because of out scoring opponents.

Defensively wouldnt it be better to just put Bianco in the field and Jobert at DH?

Pitching will be hard to predict other than looking at these recent scrimmages and who is extending
No real insight from Johnson either unlike pm who had his rotation by end of fall in most cases

Well thats partially mainieri and dunns fault. There doesnt appear to be any Alex Lange, anthony ranaudo, kevin gausman types on this staff

If you put Bianco in the outfield I would rather have LF-Dugas, CF-Bianco, RF-Crews. Jobert would be fine at DH as long as Berry is at 3B and McManus is catching.
There are so many options that it's making my head hurt.

First Cape Cod league announcement for LSU so far: Jordan Thompson will play for the Y-D Red Sox this summer.

Trying to figure out what Kelly and Johnson are doing with the starting rotation has also been...interesting.

What’s the record for home runs in a season?

180 something I think.
We won't touch that. We will hit a bunch relative to the current environment, but nothing like the Gorilla Ball days. For multiple reasons.

188 in 1997.
We won't break the record this year...we'll crush it.
I think Crews and Berry are good for a HR every 3 at bats so that should leave us with only needing 60 from everyone else.

Dugas hasn’t had a great fall or spring. You should know that being out there so much. Jobert, Drost and McManus have struggled some too. If I had to guess the outfield lineup if they played today it would be Dugas I LF Bianco in CF and Crews in right. Beloso would be the DH.

That would probably be how I started it. Seems like Jay is trying to let Gio play himself out of the lineup, but he's really not. Gio has hit fine. I wouldn't be surprised if Gio played CF on opening day.
ETA: Not saying Gio has tore it up but he's had some good games, a homer, some walks, etc. Certainly hasn't just gotten completely outplayed.

What exactly are we arguing about now?
