O’Sullivan needed years and years of getting to Omaha before he got his first title.
Skip Bertman didn't win his first CWS title at LSU until the 5th time he took an LSU team to Omaha.

Go look at the facilities in the SEC now, everyone’s catching up to the pack...it’s an arms race. Every SEC school can offer state of the art facilities, partial scholarship, and a chance to play for 2-3 years before the draft.

and every school in the SEC has elite in-state talent

Your problem is you don’t think dynasties are possible anymore and so you look for excuses as to why LSU can’t do better than we are.

No, that’s not true. No one is looking for excuses that’s a made up argument because you can’t handle reality. Sure Dynasties can happen but they can’t or shouldn’t be expected. You WANT LSU to be like the 90s again but since we’re not you’re just lashing out. There’s no evidence any of the coaches you listed would do demonstrably better than Manieri

well the OP would’ve found someone better then skip and wanted to fire him. If LSU doesn’t win a national championship every year then the coach is a bum. LSU has the resources. They should never lose a game. Right OP?

Alex Box is approaching the middle of the pack when it comes to SEC stadiums. That's what happens when you are one of the first to upgrade though

O’Connor is in the same coaching tree as Mainieri so you listing him is kind of ironic. Out of the three you listed he’s honestly the most realistic to come to LSU if asked. I think he would be a solid hire and may the guy they go after when Mainieri retires.

Tim Corbin has underachieved more than anyone out of the three.

Top recruiting classes year after year = check
Ability to offer full scholarships = check
Updated facilities = check
Strong alumni = check

He has 1 national title and has been at Vanderbilt longer than O’Sullivan and Mainieri.

Tell me why O’Connor would not work out better than PM.

It's possible that he could be better. Or he might be worse. Or just the same. Good luck getting him away from Florida. The facilities are the same, but both of Floridas baseball fans give him slack.

O'Connor is at UVA. But most of the same applies.

Corbin is an anomaly, much like Cutcliffe at Duke.

As someone who lived in Nashville when Vandy was for all intents and purposes a BB school, all Corbin has to do is not embarrass the University and he'll be there forever. Winning the CWS was nice, but in the scheme of things at VU, meh

Hey guys let me tell you a little story.
One time Alabama had a football dynasty and their coach Bryant retired and they stopped winning multiple championships. Everybody said “well a dynasty will never happen there again”
Then all of a sudden they stopped settling and hired a guy named Saban and voila! Dynasty!
Now remember when LSU baseball had a dynasty and then their coach retired and everyone said “well a dynasty will never happen there again”......

Not if you keep settling it won’t!

No they didn't because Miami had a dynasty in the 80s-90s, Nebraska had a football dynasty in the 90s, etc. Football dynasties happen all the time. Football is not baseball. And even if you want to apply your scenario, you are talking about the two best college football coaches of all-time, separated by 25 years. Generational coaches like Skip Bertman don't always exist. There hasn't been a coach in the country since Skip Bertman than has even flirted with the success he had. And the more and more parity college baseball has, the more unlikely it will be anyone ever does. And even Skip needed a lot of luck in several of those runs to win a national title.

You are forgetting one major thing. If LSU fires CPM none of them three are coming to LSU. The only one that may leave their current situation isn’t coming to a place that just fired his friend and mentor.

This is true because I thought it impossible that anyone could want Paul fired and be an Orgeron fan at the same time. But, boy was I ever wrong about that.

you are asking a lot. If an LSU baseball coach doesn’t produce a dynasty he must be fired. dumbass
