I suspect that if Mike Bianco had been offered our HC job, he would have accepted and we'd know about it. Same for Godwin. If either is not named in public soon, I believe something else is in play as in someone else.

If GOB #1 who's One Of Us as a former player-assistant coach and GOB #2 who is a former assistant coach or any other HC that's not connected to the University of LSU, isn't announced Today-Thursday-Friday, then it's one of the CWS HC's that currently coaching at an SEC East University. (GOB = Good Ole Boy)

Bianco is valued because of his LSU ties but also because of his experience in the SEC, relative success and because of recommendations from many former players. Godwin is in play, although some potential Title IX issues are being hashed out. He has strong supporters.
McDonnell is a “clean” pick for whom there is little opposition, and he’s very much in play. There have been any number of coaches who’ve expressed interest, including those with games yet to play. This is being fully vetted.
Woody is not letting public perception or the good old boy network make the decision. It’s his call, and he’s taking the time to find the best hire. The panic is unwarranted.
Picture this: if Woody and his people were reading the Rant they’d be laughing there arses off an the leaps being made.
