I have the same question - there was a huge improvement when we got a legit hitting coach - why didn't we go pick up someone with a hitting coach track record?

Conversely, he wasn't a Mainieri boy who is getting a top job at the best program in the country without proving anything in baseball coaching/evaluation outside of having played for the lazy guy that can rarely be bothered to conduct a true search for anything.
