2 years ago he said BYU would win because they are all older. We shut him out and he doesn’t say anything else about the game. These guys never come back and say they were wrong.

We scored less than 24 3 times last year. State was allowing 12 per game when we played them, we scored more than their average. Bama is Bama and UF has a great D.

If you read the article, he compares how SEC teams rank at the end of the year compared to how they were ranked at SEC media days before the season. Since 2012, LSU is a -3 spots overall compared with where they were predicted to finish in the SEC. Therefore, since 2012, they are in his “overhyped” category. The article was not a prediction for the coming year, just a comparison of past predictions vs outcomes.
That being said, I think Sallee is a douche and has historically been anti-LSU. This article is not one of those examples, however.

This thread shows up every year and every year he continues to be right, maybe when we do something special we can light this guy up but until then he’s been right about LSU football.

LSU was #25 preseason and finished #6 last season. We are in the process of reversing the -3 since 2012 trend.

Sallee is a hack, he's one of those media personalities that can only see the flash of high profile coaches and high profile offenses. For the last three years LSU has over performed on his expectations. He doesn't see the obvious with wins against teams like Georgia, or close loses on the road like A&M. He just sees that A&M and Georgia have flashier offenses and hotter name head coaches so they must be better.
Sallee and the media like him are lazy; the moment LSU wins and has an offense that is easy to appreciate, is the moment that the same wins we had in previous years suddenly mean more.

Objectivity, LSU hasn't proven a damn thing since 2011. We haven't won more than 10 games in a season and we have been bitch slapped by Alabama 63-10 in the last three games. We haven't been competitive in winning the west in seven years. Our offense has gotten worse and not better.
Until we beat Alabama and win the west, we are going to have to accept this kind of shite.

He was also wrong in 2017. He picked LSU as the most overrated SEC team in 2017, picked to finish below A&M in spite of the fact that LSU had a long winning streak against them and the game was in BR that year. (Sallee isn't even smart enough to analyze schedules. Oh and in 2017 A&M would go on to fire that coach who couldn't beat LSU but was somehow coaching a team that was better than LSU.)

3 losses (including inexcusable a&m loss) backed into a ny6 (played a crap team and whooped them as we should’ve)and shutout vs bama and finished 3rd in the west.
Yeah we weren’t 6-6 but we weren’t far from an average bowl team. (Like most of the NCAA last year)

You conviently forgot that we killed a good Georgia team and that the A&M loss was as close as it can get on the road. We were closer to one extra win than one loss. That's the factual reality, we lost in 7OT, and we shouldn't expect a journalists to represent your emotional hangups about the team.

Seriously, why should I or any of us give a flying shite what he says or writes? Nothing he does in any way directly effects what LSU does on the field or court.
It's sad that whenever any one writes something less than glowing praise about LSU athletics all you soybois out there come in here crying like babies. Time for some of you to grow a pair. I promise you that none of the coaching staff or the players are sitting in a corner crying about Barrett Sallee's opinion.
