As already stated, it's infinitely easier to "quietly dismiss" a misdemeanor than it is a high level felony. This crime also happened in Florida, not Alabama. He's not going to have home field advantage with the Judges like he would in Alabama. Using anecdotal accountings of misdemeanor offenses being swept under the rug is irrelevant. Those get swept under the rug for our players too, plenty, as well as players at programs all over the country. We quite literally just had a player arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm and he had his charge swiftly dismissed and won't serve any suspension. And I won't even get into all the bullshite Miles and Orgeron swept under the rug for years, the lawsuits speak for themselves. Some people like to live in glass houses I guess.

If he's a convicted felon no one else will. This isn't as simple as being arrested for having weed or driving drunk. Possession with intent coupled with evading police at a rate of 141 mph isn't something that's swept under the rug in a month
That’s like a pre-requisite to play for the Miami Hurricanes.

That's a play in playbook at Bama...

Ruggs was used to driving dodge chargers which is why when he upgraded to a porsche or whatever he was driving when he crashed and took someone's life, well, he couldn't handle the speed of that fancy machine. Smh

Prosecutors plan to present evidence that Ruggs had a blood alcohol level twice the legal limit and that his Chevrolet Corvette was traveling at 156 mph before the fiery crash that killed Tina O. Tintor, who was 23, and her dog.

Why? Isn’t NIL money enough? Culture is so ingrained that these athletes just can’t stay away from crime even though they have a chance to make big money in the pros if they just live right.
Same reason 20 million a season as a pro isn’t enough. People will always want more if they can get it.

That's it, give Bama athletic dept the death penalty. Lack of institutional control.

That place is out of control

That was simply concealing a gun without a permit, which is completely stupid to have to have anyways. Shouldn't have to have a piece of paper to conceal.

Well, the guy I was responding to was referencing an incident years ago where two Alabama players had a gun in a car. I 100% agree the law is stupid, but you can't, on one hand, besmirch Saban for not suspending those players and, on the other hand, justify Nabers having his gun charge dropped. IMO, both situations were handled appropriately. Simply having a gun shouldn't be a crime anywhere. Fortunately, a lot of states are implementing constitutional carry laws to address that. Unfortunately, Louisiana hasn't gotten those through

He should be prevented from playing Football for the rest of his life.
We would have taught him a valuable lesson or……he probably would have Quit.
