Baker called the right scheme out there, Harold Perkins and PJ Woodland both did a poor job with their lane/scheme assignments and tackling on several occasions, this is not on Baker

Agree I’ve never really seen it with Baker.

I think everyone was mesmerized by how bad we’ve been since Aranda left.

It should be very obvious that Baker can scout talent, ensure players understand where they're supposed to be on the field, and play hard. All of those things were severely lacking under House. The question for Baker now is, can he outscheme opposing offensive coaches and coach effectively in-game when strategic decisions need to be made.

Baker simply gets outschemed against very good playcallers and is not worth the highest paid DC money he got last year.

How so? Be specific.

The Defense held the score low enough that if we had any kind of offense, should have out scored them.

Baker made no adjustments yesterday or the ole miss game.Being aggressive is one thing but it doesn’t work against smart OCs.The problem is he won’t change and that will be his downfall.

The defense gave up 31 points and it should have been 38 but Vandy mercy-kneed is at the 6 inch line. Bama gave up only 14 to this team. They had a scheme that worked.

Poorly timed blitzes, not spying from the get go, putting Keys in any type of coverage instead of switching to a true nickel with Perkins at true LBer and perhaps as a spy.

In the end, we had some decent calls where the players blew it but that goes back to coaching. 3rd down play where Pavia avoided the blitz by Woodland and Perkins because both cut their blitzes to the inside instead of containing him together.

Selfish and heroball play. Vandy played well, but leaving the middle completely wide open multiple times throughout the game is on Baker as well.

Just like with the offense, when it happens across the board and in particular at a specific position group, it’s on coaching.

Not really…and the score was 30-14…

Bama actually scored a pretty garbage time TD to make the score look a little better. Really should've been 23-14. Vandy has a better defense than this board will give them credit for and up until the last 10 disastrous plays our offense probably had it's best performance of the year

A running QB neutralizes his defensive scheme. It makes him less aggressive which is opposite of his mentality as a coach.

The defense did what they could. At the end of the day, they gave the offense the ball twice, down by 7. The offense couldn't produce a score and we lost.

Look at UGA yesterday, OM went up & down the field and scored td's on 5 straight possessions. UGA's D finally got stops in the 4th qtr and the offense took advantage.

Thats what having a competent offense can do.
