lil nicky was in quarantine due to a positive test. He then proceeded to test negative three days straight 24 hrs apart. That's why he was cleared.

Two very easy scenarios: 1) Either was lying then or 2) He is lying now?

You do know it was only FOUR players that tested positive last week?

Why are coaches allowed to test out? It's even been said that the SEC is getting pissed at the players....why not afford them the same rules as the coach....seems dumb to me.

Coaches aren’t allowed to test out.

Saban went into quarantine due to a positive test. He took the subsequent tests to show that it was a false positive.

If Saban had gone into quarantine due to contact tracing, it would not have mattered how many negative tests he had.

LSU has something like 25 players out, IIRC, and only 4 actually have COVID.

That may be true, but I believe "most" of the players not available for practice & the game are being quarantined due to exposure rather than testing pos for COVID. Contact tracing and quarantining doesn't take into consideration if you already had COVID

I think contact tracing does account for being positive but only for 90 days after start of symptoms or specimen taken if asymptomatic. After 90 day window closes these players have to quarantine if they have contact with infected person just like those players who were never positive. This is a problem for teams that had most players positive June - first half of August especially if they didn’t have a plan.

It seems like with prior positives outside of 90 day window they would have come up with something a little less restrictive by now if they developed antibodies.

So this seems to be missing a big point imho, which is, this could be easily explained by players getting this a second time. There's no proven immunity. Just because he said "most" already had it, doesn't mean he's lying now.

You are completely confused. Saban didn’t test out of contact tracing. Saban tested out of a false positive. Completely different.

So he tested "false" positive without being around anyone confirmed to have had the virus???

Why the hell did he test in the first place then? He never had symptoms.

Again something doesn't seem right.

That's ridiculous. If that's actually the policy, the people who drew it up are phenomenally dumb.

Seriously??

He tested positive as part of the SEC required testing. The SEC had added a way to show a positive test was a false positive after a soccer player at a school got retested on her own thinking positive was strange and then tested again through school which were all negative. Through this the SEC added a way to prove a positive is a false positive with 3 negative tests over 3 days. Saban followed this and was allowed to coach after 3 negative tests proved per this SEC policy that his original positive was a false positive.

You do know that you can catch the virus more than 1 time correct? You’re only immune for a few months and then you can attract it again.
