There was a D lineman in the eighties who never cracked the starting lineup, and went on to play several years for the Steelers.

Kenny Davidson

And I'll choose Stephen Peterman.

Eugene Daniel was an 8th round pick that went on to play 14 years in the NFL with the Colts. Only Johnny Unitas and Peyton Manning played more seasons for that franchise.

McCray being on an NFL team much less a starter still surprises me so I'll say him too.

Matt Hawpe never did much at LSU but went on to have a long career in the bigs.

He doesn't even know Hawpe's first name. The guy could mash as good as any Tiger I've ever watched in my life. Didn't he set the record for regular season doubles?

He sure did. He was a doubles machine in his stent at LSU. He was so "bad" that he was selected to the all tournament team in the 2000 championship.

He tied it that record, and then his first at bat in the minors was also a double.

Danny McCray easily. At LSU, I swore that he had dirty pictures of Coach Miles in his drawer and that was the only reason he played. He was absolutely awful. After having watched a pretty good amount of Cowboys games, I can say that he really isn't even that much better. He does some things on special teams, but he is awful in coverage and even gave helped hit Morris Claiborne (accidentally) into an opposing player, which gave Mo a concussion.

Drafted in the third round, that makes you an outstanding college player

Meh, jacoby jones will be drafted in that range, do you consider him an outstanding player?
"LSU’s second-leading hitter on the year, batting .353 (94-for-266) with 18 doubles, three triples, one homer and 48 RBI ... voted second-team all-SEC by the league coaches ... finished his career in the Top 10 in several school categories, including hits (No. 8 – 255), triples (No. 9 – nine) and walks (No. 5 – 157) ... he also collected 625 assists, tying Jason Williams (1993-96) for first place in LSU career annals." I would love for this to be what an average player at lsu is considered Theriot was outstanding at LSU

Yea I don't know much about college baseball players draft stock, but I have a hard time believing Jacoby will be a 3rd rounder.

I always thought McCray was a really good unsung hero type player at LSU. It seems a lot of people on this board put him in the Karnell Hatcher category.

He can't even guard Peyton Hillis out the backfield on 4th &10

But at LSU did you see him in an NBA roster?

Not a chance. I relished the last few games thinking I wouldn't see someone play such great defense for a long time. Happy to see him doing well. Just thought he was a great basketball player at LSU, and I didn't think he would be included amongst the likes of Danny McCray on here
