This same thread over and over again is getting tiring.
In other news, LSU should have hired Spurrier when it had the chance.

Wade lied to his boss! Automatic reason for termination.

Wade isn’t on the same planet as Pearl as a coach. He’s taken two different programs who didn’t give a shite about basketball to the top tier of the sport and gotten Auburn to the Final 4.

Bruce is also 22 years older than Wade.
When Pearl was coaching UT in 2005, he was 45 years old and Wade was 23 years old.
When Wade started at LSU, he was 35 years old.
For context in a different sport, Saban was 48 years old when he took over LSU.
Some dudes can't grasp that coaches can grow and get better over time. It's hilarious.

Why don't we just shut it down?
Isn't that that what Woody did.
What is your projection of LSU Basketball with Woody/Mac.
Football is on the clock. If Kelly can't win with the millions recently spent, What then?

Wade never achieved anything close to the post season success that Pearl has had.
He never had the chance to because Alleva panicked like the bitch he is and suspended him for the whole SEC and NCAA Tournament in 19 when we were a top 3 seed and SEC champs, 2020 no tourney due to covid shutdown, 2021 we got a bad seed despite finishing as SEC Tourney runnerup, 2022 Woody fired Wade before the tournament and fricked with our MO and approach. It was all a waste of great talent and ability because of a sentence on a wiretap that was never proven and a bunch of unproven hearsay.

Expound on what this "fire" is

We really did it to protect the football program through the Vidal Alexander saga and Title 9 investigations, NCAA hated Wade and leveraged leveling the football program to get Woody to axe him.

It's not like a little child. It's that many see an opportunity this year to essentially re-start where LSU basketball left off when Wade was fired.
Wade is doing extremely well at McNeese while McMahon and the LSU basketball program are floundering with no end in site. Wade is eventually going to get another power conf. job. More likely sooner rather than later. Kelvin Sampson got the Houston job despite putting two schools (Oklahoma and Indiana) on probation and getting himself a "show cause" penalty. Bruce Pearl was essentially blackballed in the coaching profession when he called a recruit and secretly recorded him suggesting Illinois had paid him to sign with Illinois which Pearl then turned into the NCAA. Pearl then got Tennessee put on probation and himself a "show cause" penalty. Auburn still hired him. Wade's show cause is over after this year.
Winners who cheat still get jobs. Losers who "do it right" don't. That may not seem "right", but that is reality.
Wade had the most consistent period of winning LSU basketball experienced since the early 90's. He knows and is still well liked by the donor class (unless you are naïve enough to think he was winning recruiting battles against Kentucky, North Carolina, Indiana, Auburn, Arizona, etc completely with money out of his own pocket). That is more important now than ever before given having enough money to buy a roster is mandatory. To that end, there is no risk of a repeat transgression at LSU because conversations involving paying players no longer have to be secret. They are NECESSARY.
Outside of men (including Wade) setting aside their egos and any hard feelings, there is no logical reason to not bring him back to LSU after this year. He would immediately inject life back into a lifeless program (which would = increase revenues). He fully embraces the new NIL/transfer landscape, and he has already proven he can compete with the best HCs in the SEC. He's beaten Oats, Pearl, Barnes, Calipari, and Buzz Williams multiple times. By contrast, McMahon is 3-15 against that group.
For Wade he would get to jump right back in to where he left off from a support/donor perspective instead of having to build a major program and relationships with major donors elsewhere. For LSU they get to essentially pretend this current 3 year waste of time never happened.
If LSU doesn't at least consider rehiring Wade it will be for no other reason but hubris and pride
Dude, YES! I completely agree with all of this! I am totally with you because he would crush it in this NIL landscape, increase revenue for our program, and revive LSU men's basketball interest writ-large while restoring us to our most consistent success since his first stint here and the Chris Jackson/Shaq years.

Pearl had to take a two year vacation from Tennessee
They didn'tt stick with him at all
He had a show cause against him

frick you and the high horse you rode in on. All those things are legal now
But weren’t then.

if LSU had told the NCAA to frick off, we’d still have Wade with no sanctions
You don’t know that.
At the time this went down, the NCAA was threatening sanctions against the football program.
Risk was bigger than the reward.
