Ole Miss doing it for a potential Heisman favorite? With a middling shot at a title? There is at least a high reward scenario.

Ole Miss is throwing money away on this for some reason. I saw something during their game how they spent money in New York and Las Vegas promoting both of their players for Heisman? So strange.

LSU fans keep trying to make this personal or that it is because they're scared of Kiffin and shite when that's just ego talking.

Still makes no sense to ignore others and come after LSU for something they didn't even do differently. This was about the players.

Well we took it to the extreme. And the real season is about to start. Clearly the SEC had enough and wanted this for this year.

Yeah, had enough of Kiffin. They didn't have enough with anyone else. Not even Alabama playing a pro earlier this year.

I'm talking about publicly recruiting guys in NFL training camps to come back to college as the "Extreme"

2 undrafted dudes that didn't play or get paid?
I don't think one of them even practiced

And as far a Pyburn we wouldn't of had to recruit him because he played here already

But if you to a mini camp and get cut you are somehow not as professional as a training camp participant

I would argue that playing someone who's been in the G league for 3 years is more extreme

But unlike Sorsby, the players are likely to continue legal action against the SEC.

I don't see what cause of action they have, especially without including LSU.

LSU and the players have to operate under the guise that there was never an agreement with LSU, and I believe they even testified as much. This is to avoid LSU admitting the coordination that would potentially be really bad for LSU.

So these players didn't even have agreements with LSU for anything. How can they project that into liability to the SEC? There isn't even a contract with LSU for the SEC to interfere with. The players have no direct association with the SEC upon which to sue them.

LSU never sued for these players to play, the players did this on their own. Which is so maddening because under the rules LSU did not break a single one.

SEC members having opinions is part of the bylaws they all agree to. It's not collusion for a majority of them to have the same views.

I mean you can extrapolate damages without a concrete agreement based on estimated NIL value, etc. The SEC’s vigorous enforcement of an eligibility rule that a court had declared unenforceable cost them NIL opportunities. May not be a cause of action that’s directly on point but I’m certain plaintiffs attorneys can dig up a couple using this fact pattern.

That's the damages portion. I agree.

I'm talking about the cause of action/liability part, though. If that doesn't exist, you could have $10B in damages and it doesn't matter. You have no case.

What about professionals in other sports? They have been legal for years, i.e. Josh Booty. How are they defined now?

Just seems like a lot of rash decisions on individual instances with no thought of the big picture.

What were the causes of action in the initial suit? Louisiana anti-trust act and unfair trade practices right? Assume they could still use those.

Interference with the right to contract is the cause of action.

And violates anti-trust laws…Slow Flow Brain fails to understand and keeps harping on SEC rules instead of actual laws, but he’s a lawyer? Yea he must be a lawyer in Gumpville for the SEC because he is just as dumb and desperate to be right as they are and it’s laughable to say the least.,

They sued the SEC under those causes of action in the initial injunction hearing and won. It’s clear the SEC is the entity driving the restraint of trade.

Stupid answer…a good lawyer would say you use the federal statute. In fact because there’s cases nationwide it’s exactly what you would use.

Where did you go to law school? Don’t be a coward and refuse to answer or just stfu altogether.

But LSU made the choice to not put them on the roster, ultimately.

You could easily say LSU has a potential cause of action against the SEC, or the players against LSU, but jumping the players to the SEC is difficult.

Again, LSU's stance is that we have no agreement with the players, didn't recruit them while they were in NFL training camps, and we didn't coordinate the suits in EBR. LSU has intentionally kept the relationship with the 2 players distant for a reason.
