I think Nola gets the start vs. Bama

I would save Nola for the second game against them.

Lol

I would agree that Bama cant take us lightly, but that NC game was not a dogfight. We gave up in the 3rd quarter.

I'll take Miles, Chief, and Cameron over Little Nicky any day.

They might be saying that, if bama beats Texas A&M, they could still lose to LSU and get to Atlanta.

I;ve seen some LSU writers in my twitter feed getting into with obviously ignorant arse writers for Athlon. Athlon now seems to be the Bleacher Report of magazines.

Not exactly a bold prediction there. Yes on paper, it should be smooth sailing for Alabama. It's not that hard to see that. Could they trip up against LSU? Sure, absolutely.

Athlon predictions dismiss LSU @ Bama game

Is anyone really surprised at this? BAMA's schedule is a cakewalk. I Love my Tigers but this season the cards are stacked against us with scheduling, a mass defection of defensive starters, and, most likely, losing our most prolific running back. This prediction and the Vegas odds are not a stretch for the pre-season folks. Do I hope we prove them wrong and beat BAMA in Tuscalooser?

The offense was D.O.A well before the final quarter.

Unfortunately that might be true, god I hate them.... Play 2 hard games lose 1, and sit on the couch wait for other teams to lose, get to Natty... Bla!

I checked out Lindy's, Sporting News and Athlon's preseason guides at the bookstore the other day. If I remember correctly, Lindy's has LSU at 8 in the country, Athlon's at 12 and Sporting News at 16. All three pretty much predict Bama to win it all and for A&M to finish second in the SEC West, with LSU third, I think.

A few things:

Don't put too much stock in these magazines. They don't know these teams in detail. They generally go by who is returning.

I don't see A&M having more talent than us, but they have momentum and Johnny Football. And we lost a ton of talent on defense. To the casual observer, that equals A&M is better than LSU. What they don't see is all the young talent across the roster that's ready to have its turn in the spotlight.

The prognosticators might be right. We might lose three or four games if certain things don't materialize. But I happen to think a lot of analysts (and a fair number of our own fans) are seriously underestimating LSU this season.

I think the talent that is replacing the talent that left on defense will prove to be just as capable. And I think Cameron will work wonders with our offense, primarily because he'll do a better job gameplanning, playcalling, making in-game adjustments, doing multiple things out of base sets so we don't telegraph plays based on personnel and formations and by incorporating the RB and TE more in the passing game, which will give the defense more to account for and give Mett more options.

You know Bama lost more right?

Hanagriff was talking about this yesterday. One poll cited LSU losing 4 dlinemen that had started 90-something games. Bama lost 4 Olinemen that had started 126 games.

Both Bama and LSU have had top recruiting classes. But that doesnt matter.

I dont care. We take care of business, the rest will work itself out.

Why would anyone read them, after they were dumb enough to list Mullen as a better coach than Miles(and only 7th best in the SEC)

If you look at that out of context I agree with you.

However, I understand their logic. LSU is the best program in the state in the midst of fertile recruiting grounds.

LSU will probably always have more tallent than MSU.

The article was saying they think Mullen may be a better coach based on how well he does with less.

At the end of the day it is just an opinion piece.

For me, LSU is capable and will compete in all their games (i.e. a legit chance to win them)

However, if I had to pick 4 losses in order of most likely to undecided would be:

BAMA
GEORGIA
TAM
OLE MISS (just because they always seem to play their best game against LSU)

Mississippi State concerns me as well because of the laws of probability. I can't remember the last time they beat LSU.

I feel good about Fla, Auburn, and Arky. (all home games)

Oh really? Any day? I get accused of being a Gump fan all the time. I am not. Hate everything BAMA. BUT, I am a huge Saban fan. I don't think that Miles and Chavous combined are as good as Saban. He may be a miserable human being but is unmatched as a college coach. I have talked recently to a starting member of the 2007 team who also played under Saban. He said Saban was the best coach he had ever been around high school, college, or pro. He also did say he loved Miles and he was a good coach also. But Saban was on a different level than everyone else. And still is.

lol if you didn't read the biggest challenge for 2013 you ought to. It was either Texas A&M or Bama themselves that were the toughest road. Miles and Saban are 3-3 since 2007 yet everybody only remember A&M beating them after Bama had a slugfest against us. It's going to be pretty funny once A&M's BCS hopes are over by November.
