What's stopping Woodward from re-hiring Wade now that we're officially in the age of NIL?

Penance served. 4-D chess. Alphamoved.

The simple solution is to be patient with MM. it sucks to suck but he deserves three seasons at a minimum. The only measure that matters to me are quad 1 wins and SEC wins. I don’t care about beating Nicholls State or Texas Southern or McNeese.

I think Woodward fired wade because he violated ncaa rules and fought it. Had his contract restructured saying he could be fired if the allegations were true. And they were. Nothing to do with football. It doesn’t follow any logic to say firing a basketball coach would atone football violations.

The OLOL case had not been closed
When OBJ passed cash to his foes
The NCAA saw a chance to expose
And lumped football in with woes

They threatened penalties severe
For both programs, far and near
We chose to roll over, without a tear
To protect football, our golden dear

This news is common, no surprise
Discussed ad nauseum, with many sighs

Are you a true fan of LSU, or just disguise?

The allegations against Wade have not been proven true. Arbitration is still ongoing. The NCAA is likely afraid of Wade suing them. There is no telling what his lawyers will uncover in discovery about other coaches, other programs, and the very unequal nature of NCAA penalties. Besides, what Wade and all successful programs have been doing for decades is now legal with NIL.

Will Wade's name echoes loud,
On wiretaps, it's clear and proud,
NCAA sent their attack dogs,
To bring him down,
It's no secret, cash under mats,
All-Americans, where it sat,
LSU and Duke, all the same,
But Wade, he played the game.
He fought back and made them look bad,
People saying "screw the NCAA, they're mad"
They took football as a pawn,
To get rid of Wade, it was all drawn.
Woodward, he's not to blame,
Wade was caught, it's all the same.
Hold on to what we got,
Together we'll make it, we'll give it a shot

Woodward is buddies with Emmert and has friends at the NCAA. Let’s not pretend he didn’t know what was potentially coming and what he needed’to do to ‘fix’ the problem

As far as CMM we don’t have a choice. We can only be patient and hope he gets it turned around. Otherwise, we are going to face our first Woodward mega contract terms issue.

Basketball was sacrificed for football. That's the LSU way.

How can anyone believe this? It’s akin to saying a criminal should admit to the murder when the police are interrogating him without the presence of a lawyer because the cop said they would, “go easy on him”

The NCAA doesn’t have anywhere near the power of a police department, especially in this day and age. Quid pro qui happens every single day in business, that some can’t or won’t acknowledge what obviously happened is odd.

He has no freaking clue it seems.
… Honestly I haven’t seen anything change in all the losses since the Kentucky game… same starting 5, same substitutes, same shitty offense, same shitty defense and on and on… what do they do @ practice?

NO WHEN NEXT YEAR LOOKS AS PISS POOR AS THIS TEAM HE GONE!!!!!!!

Nothing against CMM but I'd be all for it.
Today was a good example why it would be a good idea.
The effort was what you would expect for any game and there was some good execution on both ends. They've gotten better but they aren't as talented as who they play. Our guys have to do most everything well in every facet to win games.
Great players = Great execution no matter what Offense/Defense the Coach wants to run.
Wade is a TOP Recruiter. The players he's brought in have proved LSU could be Top 5 (IIRC) at either end. (In different years but that fact reinforces my point) The different kind of high level players he attracts can make whatever scheme he chooses successful.
IF it was going to happen I'd say it would be after the season. Prolly highly unlikely, though.
By the way, I was not a CWW sycophant. This is all just common sense. CWW is an established recruiter of elite talent. CMM is not.
BUT - even just on "general principles" - frick Bill Self.

Pat Forde, Dick Vital, Pete Thamel and John Calipari. Whether he knows it or not Woodward by his actions shows he really values their opinions.

That's why you don't fire WW. The program was on a path to being a consistent top 25 team year over year. WW team finished 20 in the net rating last year. I know the WW haters don't like to hear that WW consistently produced very competitive college basketball against top competition despite no support from LSU administration WW got his teams to the tournament year over year only to be sabotaged by the media and the administration at tournament time.

LSU administration really does not want to win at basketball. I'm starting to believe it's a cultural thing. They just don't want to fight for basketball and at this point the NCAA would not have been a hard fight. Woodward gave the NCAA a win making them feel stronger than they really are.

It’s amazing how much this lie is parroted. It is still not legal for a coach to pay players from their own bank account. Wade was an idiot for doing that

Seriously, MoneyMan - who was the player involved in this and where did it happen?
Was this an LSU infraction or a Will Wade infraction?
