I honestly don't have any idea what type of offense he would even run. I'm not knocking the hire, I just don't know. I honestly just never pictured him as an OC. I figured BYU would have hired a bigger name and more established OC. With that said, I hope he works out well for y'all. I've always liked BYU.

We hate him but I think he did a pretty good job this season after a rough start with new pieces.

Did a good job with a injury filled squad. Good pick up for BYU. Please take Canada with him.

Everyone thought he sucked, until this year he redeemed himself imo.

Did he redeem or did the shifts and motions diguise?

I thought he did a pretty decent job as the o line coach. Don’t really think it’s fair to him to receive too much criticism for our offense the last few years as there’s plenty of blame to spread around. Some games we looked unstoppable and the next week we looked completely inept. Overall I like Grimes but as an Offensive Coordinator? No way. I don’t understand that but who knows? He may do a great job. If he is successful as an OC then there’s more to Grimes than I thought.

If Grimes had been hired as OC last year, the LSU fanbase would have Greg Shiano'd him.

But that was after O had taken over the recruiting reigns as well. I know the guys he coached up his first couple of years and this year at the start of the year were all Miles guys. Since O had taken over the recruiting Coordinator role the OL has looked different IMO. Basically what I'm trying to say is that the player makes all the difference in the world so I'm not too sure everything that was going on with the OL was all on Grimes. I think this year showed that. The younger guys are much more talented, or they fit their position much better than in the past.

In addition to being our o-line coach he was also our running game coordinator. Not sure exactly what that entailed but it certainly suggests that he was involved in the offense more than simply who blocks who.

Whatever some of our fans think of him, they have to admit that he did a hell of a job this season with our oline, considering our depth and overall numbers issues. Our freshmen looked good when they were forced into action.

we didn't see enough of him post miles. by the end of the season we had a really good oline, although pass blocking could've been a little better.

under miles we never had tackles. last year we had one true tackle and he was playing center.

we really only had this year to see him post miles and he did a good job.

The guy is a very good OL coach and teacher. He was hamstrung sometimes by an offensive scheme that couldn’t keep defenses honest regarding the pass and the type of lineman that Coach Miles wanted. His line last year was top graded and he did a really nice job developing a young and thin line this year. He put 5 linemen in the NFL for successful careers while we had none drafted the 7 seasons before his arrival.

I know nothing about his ability to be a coordinator and call plays.
