The defendant's lawyer will be able to sell Sims was the aggressor and possibly that his client was acting in self-defense. Sims interjected himself into a street fight. It doesn't matter he was standing up for someone else when he is the one who made himself part of the fight and escalated things.
Additionally, the defendant's defense of fearing for his life could be considered very legitimate when a 6'6" college athlete is going after him.
Its not right, but if the attorney is successful in getting a change of venue anything can happen when it goes to jury.

When you're that young and outside of a party carrying a gun, it shows what your mentality is, and it says a lot about the way you're living your life. It's so cowardly to shoot someone over some kind of disagreement, but it happens on repeat here. Two lives are done now over what? And the murderer is going to wish he was dead when he is sent off to Angola to sit in a cage because he had no regard for a human life.

Sorry bro, I’m upset about this happening to this kid. My family that lives in Houston has no idea this happened!! This is a country wide problem that needs to be called out!

I can't bring myself to watch the video of a man dying. From what I'm reading, it appears the shooting was not justified.

No not what i said. I said you cant arrest the whoke group for the shooting when its clear one person shot. You can arrest the whoke grouo for fighting but not the shooting.
As fir self defense, the shooters life wasnt in danger. He was just getting walked and shot because he wasnt gonna win. The Sims kid was taking everyone in front of hum out with the hands. The shooter was just a pussy with a gun. He stood around the whole time until a guy was on his knees then proceeded to get in. Sims saw and took action. It was quite clear on the video. Police even decribed the shooter so obviously it was clear to them as well.
Dint use emotion and bias on a message board to put words in my mouth.
