I think people got use to the Les post bama let down and think arky plays us better than they really do.

Here is hoping we turned the page last week. We are definitely improving as a team, especially on defense. If we can keep that same swagger on defense as we had last week, combined with what I feel will be a much more confident Nuss after that last game.....we should win a hard fought game...and don't care if by 1 or 10, but I'd prefer 10. Alabama heard “trap game” all week leading up to Vandy after their big win against UGA. Their coach was putting mouse traps around the facility.

They still lost. Hopefully we know that Arkansas is a team that can’t be taken lightly & show up

I know football players aren't always considered the smartest people, but what in the LSU-Arkansas rivalry (particularly @Arkansas) would have them think this is an easy win?

Comparing them to Vandy historically in any way is ludicrous.

From 2016-2019 LSU beat Arkansas by 23, 28, and 36 points. Only once was the game close in that stretch.

We were much better on defense during that stretch, and 2019 was the best team in CFB history. And this Arky team is breed than any of those. They’re pretty damn good this year. They have 2 really good coordinators who’ve had 2 weeks to plan for us. They’re more healthy than us save their QB, but who knows how hurt he really still is.

And they’ve still only got 1 conference loss, think of us as a big rival, and we play in Fayetteville at night. It’s not Tiger Stadium, but it will be about as good and loud an environment as that stadium is capable of. We are gonna have to play really well to beat them. And our back 7 played almost the entire 80-ish snaps against Ole Miss. How tired and banged up are they?

and the worst thing Arkansas does outside of defending a pass rush, is defending the passing game.

Those will certainly be keys to the game. We’ve got to get home and force sacks and pressures while playing contain and not giving up the big QB runs up the middle. As far as defending the pass, I’m pretty sure they played Tennessee kinda like Ole Miss played us. They rushed 3 and dropped 8. Nuss is gonna have to be a lot more accurate tomorrow than he was Saturday, and our WRs are gonna have to do a better job of getting open. But we’ve GOT to be able to run against a light box with our RBs. Don’t have to break off 70 yard TD runs, but have to get 5,6,7 yards consistently to stay ahead of the chains and prevent presnap penalties. And Nuss is gonna have to pick his spots and run for a few 1st downs when they’re giving them to him.

Somebody mentioned turnovers, and I think I heard we only have 8 takeaways on the year. Which is surprising considering how much pressure we get on the QBs.

This is going to be a big time win.

I’m not sure if you’re saying if we win, it will be a big time win as in nice win or you think we’ll beat them handily. Personally I’d take a 1 point win and get the frick out of there. But if we win 32-13 or something like that, that will make me feel really really good about how much better we’ve gotten and about the rest of the regular season. I think we win, but it will be close. Hopefully not Ole Miss close, but I think it will still be a game in the 4th quarter. Maybe we get a turnover and go up by 14 and put it away. But I expect a nail biter for most of the game. We’ll see. Should be exciting with so much on the line for both teams.

I mean, if he isn't throwing bombs the whole game, I assume that he will be more accurate. Still head scratching what we were doing that game when there were short routes open. I agree that the WRs need to get open more. I was specifically watching that last game and there was really tight coverage constantly. We have solid recs but not quite elite. Last year Neighbors and BT were constantly running wide open in the secondary. Of course, last year, we played some really bad defenses, and SC and OM are far from bad defenses.

so many opportunities in the Southern Cal game that the ball just didn't bounce our way.

But that’s the thing. They are pretty good. And I’m not sure that win over Tennessee was really an upset. They may just be better.

Not the craziest thing to hear. Typically play sluggish football there especial in the cold. Kickoff, weather should be perfect but after halftime it'll take a dip to the 50's.

Before the game tying drive Nuss was 17-40 passing. He does that again, a late TD might not be enough to win or even tie the game.

Tennessee is better than LSU and they lost, so LSU "should " lose. Not sure why they say it will be an upset if they do!!

Vanderbilt was a 2-2 team who had lost to Georgia State. They had never beaten a #1 team in the history of their program.

Arkansas already knocked off one top-10 team this year and we have the benefit of the Vandy-Bama outcome as an example of what happens if you sleepwalk.

It’s still a tough spot, but I think the team will be more focused than they would have been in Bama’s position a few weeks ago.

VERY bad logic. Every single one of those games has been hard fought and down to the wire except for 2016 and 2019.

based upon what? They have very little offense against SEC defenses. They lost to Arkansas, and quite frankly following that loss, should have lost again at home against FLORIDA. Arkansas may beat us on the road, but not sure how you are assuming Tenn is better. Nico is WAY overrated against teams with a defense, but pretty good against jr colleges ....much like OM was against lesser competition.

This is where I’m at. I think it will be close but Arkansas got their upset a couple weeks ago. Don’t see it happening again

except for last year it seems like we always played them after bama. I am beginning to think we might put together a 1st and 2nd half for the first time this year. It's time for us to play a complete game.
