re: Arky winning is the hot upset pick of the week

Arkansas this week is like LSU was last week-- bye week advantage, home field advantage
I agree. But the bye week hasn't seemed to be a huge advantage thus far.
Georgia was coming off a bye vs. Alabama and was awful in the first half
Kentucky was coming off a bye and lost to Vandy at home
Missouri was coming off a bye and got blown out by A&M
OU had a bye before playing Texas and was crushed
South Carolina was coming off a bye, at home, vs Ole Miss...and was blown out.
Tennessee was coming off a bye vs. Arkansas and played horribly
LSU didn't look good coming of a bye vs. Ole Miss.
Now, that ratio hasn't been 100% against teams coming off a bye. Alabama looked like world beaters vs. Georgia after a bye. Florida played well vs. UCF. Vandy upset Alabama after being off. But more often than not bye week hasn't looked to provide a huge advantage. In fact, it might be a disadvantage.
That said, a win by LSU would be breaking a trend. Every SEC thus far who went on the road following a bye week has lost:
UGA @ Alabama
Miss. St. @ Georgia
Tennessee @ Arkansas
Missouri @ A&M

Arkansas had always been the hardest game to predict the outcome.

Not a fan either team but Arky will win this week. Pretty much had them in all my parlays. Most I did Ark +4.5

LOL, yeah, you don't have any bias since you bet on Arky.

What? Go through my post history and you will see I've never talked about Arkansas. I'm just a big betting guy and this was one of my definite upset picks for this week.

Wouldn't be a shocker.
LSU coming off an emotional win.
Arky always gives LSU fits.
Tittsman coaching for his life.

Beating Tennessee is no easy feat
The problem is that we don’t really know if that is true or not. NC St turned out to be a very bad team. Oklahoma’s offense is one of the worst in FBS. Their ranking was built on a mirage. A loss to Arkansas followed by a second consecutive poor offensive showing while escaping in OT against Florida leaves Tennessee’s actual strength very much in doubt. Auburn and Miss St are winless in conference. Oklahoma and Florida’s only conference wins are over those teams. Tennessee’s only wins are Florida and Oklahoma. It’s a big house of cards. Those teams all could be stronger than they appear or maybe Tennessee still hasn’t played anyone.

LSU isn’t playing this game following a bye week, so a win wouldn’t break that trend.

Huge Porker fan here and I also think the Hogs are due for a poorly executed game. The score will be something like Swine-13 Toonces-34

Not a good matchup for the Hogs. I usually worry about them but I think LSU runs away with it this yer.

We are going to win and play good ball. Getting Daniels back is big for Nuss. He really struggled when he didn’t have Daniels playing opposite Lacy. It also helps Mason Taylor. We need a deep threat but Chris Hilton won’t take the field. It is the strangest thing. He can’t say he sat out to redshirt or because he wouldn’t get playing time. He’d be a starter with Lacy and Daniels as the deep threat. He’s got to have a Lisfranc.

Depends on the effort from LSU. If going through the motions, they likely lose. If they come out ready to play, they likely win.

These idiots on TV ask the question of whether Arkansas can pull off the “shocker” tonight against LSU. How damn shocking is it for a 2.5-point underdog to win at home? It’s not like LSU is a 2-touchdown favorite. The rhetoric used by these analysts is beyond stupid!
Posted on 10/19/24 at 9:19 am to LSUDarkKnight2
Arky is no Vanderbilt.

It would be really sweet to put the CFB world on notice today!! Geaux Tigers!!

the replacement for bear on ESPN just picked Arkansas, he was 0-3 last week. Good sign IMO.
