Gonna be funny if he comes back and once again bails on his teammates mid-season then what will all you Gilbert apologists say?

He's clearly fighting some mental issues which he needs to address.

Terrible at school
Terrible at transferring
Great on the field

Regardless how you cut it, dude needs some help and hope he finds it soon

My understanding is Arik finished the fall semester with a 1.0. That's not good. Maybe sitting out the spring semester and taking summer courses may allow him to be eligible this fall.

Is a 2.0 required for eligibility?

I'm 100% positive the players would accept him.

At least one has messaged him telling him to come back. I'm pretty sure if one did it publicly that it would also be the consensus of the majority of the team

giving in to alleged "demands"

The only people who have alleged this are rantards with no clue what they're talking about. AG obviously has some fairly significant issues that he needs to figure out, but nobody respectable has said anything even remotely resembling him making "demands" of our staff

I'm assuming his grades from last Fall are fine

I don't remember who said it, Jordy, T. Bob or Moscona, but I thought I heard one of them say Arik made a 1.0 last fall semester.

Not sure how the “commitment” to UF affects that and how far that process went, that could affect numbers.

The commitment to florida is meaningless. Verbal commitments are completely unofficial and affect nothing at all. If he *signed* with them, that'd be one thing, but i'm nearly certain that he did not.

If he comes back he going to need a personal coach to keep him on the straight and narrow. I suspect his struggles are due to the fact that he came from high school were EVERYTHING was done for him and he received CONSTANT praise from everyone to a situation at LSU (or any college) were a basic level responsibility is required by him.

I believe that is right.

ETA: I heard T. Bob on the radio tell a story about how it is almost impossible to make less than a 3.0 with all the help athletes get. He said if you major in something not too difficult, you just go to class and do the homework you're going to get a B.

Yes we should cancel people for making mistakes when they're 19

Can we fricking retire this bullshite line? Gilbert clearly needs to figure some shite out, but there is **nothing** that indicates he's a bad kid or a prima donna or any of that stuff. The only place that's come from is this board lol. Precisely zero (0) of it has actually been reported.

How bout we not just make shite up about a 19 year old kid lol. He has his issues; let him work through them without pulling random insults out of thin air.

Brennan through to him more than 50% of time. Or it looked that way. Then TJ came in and never through to him. This isbthe point I could see him not running routes and just lazy running. Then Max came in and started throwing to him but he was still running lazy routes. I believe he had already made up his mind to leave before Florida game and then left after Florida.

For the good of the program it's time to move on
Let him figure it out somewhere else
#1 it's trending that it will be difficult for him to become eligible
#2 if he does come and sits out than plays one more year, I'm guessing he opts out at some point to get ready for draft

I think everyone would love to have him back if/when he resolves whatever issues he was having.

Has no effect on recruiting numbers, he was in the 2020 class and that didn’t change.
