I’ll take him back with open arms and a red carpet. LSU would definitely have the advantage in this scenario. Humble pie is our friend. He’s got to produce… and stop complaining…

I honestly feel bad for the kid at this point. It seems like he doesn't have anyone guiding him or something because he keeps making these public decisions without being sure of anything and then backing out. I hope he can get it together because he obviously has talent, but talent does not guarantee you success.

I am guessing the SEC wouldn't give him immediate eligibility?

He’ll end up at Jackson State playing for Deion Sanders.

Thank you. I understand the disappointment with him not gearing up for Spring practices & Fall football for the Tigers, but miss me with all that character BS. Hope the young man figures it out.

I honestly hope that he gets some counseling, because it appears aa though he has some things going on.

That said, as long as he doesn't have to count as a 2021 signee AND he reaches out to O with some humility (in other words admit that he screwed up and ask for another opportunity), I don't think you lose anything by giving him another chance.

He needs therapy and a coach to take him by the hand for a while. He is incredibly talented and could have a really bright future.
I hope he figures out his health first and worries about football second.

“Aril Gilbert back in portal????
How to go from stud to laughing stock 101.

I see some calling it a business decision to wanting him back. Idk what type of business you may be running but an educated business decision would be to not let him back and hsve the chance to do this all over again. If he gives up when being the top tight end imagine the damage he will do if things really dont go his way.

Dont let him back.
Cancer has a way of spreading”

I agree. He would be toxic in the locker room if allowed back.

When I was his age I was just as confused. Some kids don't grow up with adults supervision on which they can trust.

Yep. A lot of people don't get that, as seen in this thread.

I don't know Gilbert's situation, but I sure as shite know that my stepdad died at 16, and from there I didn't have a single male role model that I trusted to give me solid advice.

I hate to see anyone being confused on what to do, not sure what the right decision is, feeling pressure to do something they may not want to do, etc. because I know how it feels. Regardless of the opportunities you've been given, it can seem like the world is against you.
