Indeed. Unrestricted Free Agent players should maintain their eligibility for collegiate re-entry and have an opportunity to be considered in next year's draft.

I honestly have no idea, it’s only a nostalgic hope! I don’t watch the NFL as much as I used to for a myriad of reasons, but mostly because I don’t feel any connection to the teams I once loved! For me personally, the NIL and Portal are creating that same disconnect for CFB and even LSU!

I'd hardly call him an "ex-NFL player". He hasn't made an NFL roster. In fact, he would be coming here only if he isn't picked up...for one final chance to make an NFL roster. You don't have a job just because you interviewed. I find it very unlikely that he's learned some secret football knowledge or changed his body so much into past several months that we wiould have a competitive advantage with him just because of his "pro experience". ". I'd but it if he was in that system for a full year, playing against that level of talent in real games. But that's not the case here.
The timing of the NCAA approving the 5-for-5, along with the courts grant eligiblity....plus 18 looming court cases involving over 200 athletes...some of these only chance to continue their football careers is to get the 5th year. Why should some benefit and not all? Just because they "went pro" thinking that was their only option at the time? If they don't make the team, they should have the same opportunity as the other 5th year guys. That's the crux of the issue, here.

There are guys asking to be cut from a 90 man roster a week earlier so they can enroll. Instead of taking the practice squad route, they’re taking a quick payday on the collegiate level.

Agreed, I guess take advantage of every conceivable option and fine print. It all should be exploited it’s what I loved about Saban.
Just not a fan of the way these guys get 9years to play college ball etc.
Football post hs should imo be counted no matter the level. But I’m just a fan.
