I’d take 2011 Jarret Lee, Zach Mettenberger, Matt Mach, maybe even Danny Etling in some instances over him. The dude can’t even throw the slant and you think he’s the 2nd best QB in program history? He can’t even throw a spiral.
Best running QB? Sure. 2nd best QB in program history? Nope.

Those other players you mentioned played on absolutely stacked teams with veteran offensive lines. Not a team with two true freshmen tackles, a former walkon starting RB, and a true freshman TE.

Now I know you're full of shite. All he throws are slants, outs, comebacks, and check downs. That's what people complain about. I have no clue where can't throw a spiral comes from. Daniels has a great deliver and adequate arm strength when he actually throws it. The glaring problem is deciding to throw it.

Except for a couple of games he was more effective with his legs than his arm.

I will let you go back and count how many times he actually threw a slant this season when the WR didn’t have to wait on the ball. I will bet the farm that 75% of his slant throws were late and the WR had to wait on the ball or it was thrown too far behind them to catch it.
