Are there Plays that Miles Saves but Won't Use When the Running Game Falters?

Though the first 8 or so games, it seemed like Miles was trying not to use to many different offensive plays, if he didn't have to. I thought that was smart, save a bunch for games where we might need them. Like Bama or SEC Championship or Arky, etc.
I thought for sure in the BCS. It never happened. I don't recall seeing much in the tight games that looked different from Auburn, when we were blowing them out.
I'm not harping on last year, but wondering if that is a sign of things to come. or not come?

we don't need smoke and mirrors to beat teams.. we're not oregon, boise state, etc... we can punch people in the mouth all night and knock them out in the 3rd and 4th quarter... did you not notice a trend last year?? close (most of the time) til halftime and then LSU blows people out in the 2nd half... this didn't happen by accident

Bama had seen every play we ran before, get your head out of your 13 wins.

How'd that work 1/9? Not too well. The half-back pass and the tight-end reverse helped us beat Bama in 2010. We do need some creativity.

ok, as soon as you pull your head out of your ea sports NCAA 2013 dynasty running arse... just because you win a championship on Xbox, that don't qualify you to run a D1, SEC offense..
now please STFU and go sit down somewhere

What is a good play?
Offense is about execution.
There is no secret playbook.
