Yes. id bet 2.5 mil no program would have given him that contract as a dc. Hes the highest paid dc in the country. No one else is paying that.

He leveraged a raise and stayed out. Always easier to stay than make a move. Especially if the pay is the same.

I assumed the people downvoting where Onpumpers who want to pretend like he stayed cause he respects O so much.

Damnit. I missed it. Who said they were pissed off that Aranda respects Coach Orgeron?

Read the thread.

This is the third time Aranda has been quoted that O was instrumental in him staying at LSU. Every time it comes up, people basically call him a liar.

And no one believes it because we pay him 2.5 million dollars.

If we didn’t give him a huge raise do you think he stays?

Now I am Sure if he hated O he would leave, but I am Not gonna jerk O off for Alleva approving Aranda making more money than anyone else at his position in pro or college

Yeah. I still don't see it. One person said it has as much to do with the money as anything. But, I didn't see anyone saying he was liar at all. Maybe I'm missing something.

Because it took making him the highest paid coordinator in football to get him to stay. This isn't rocket science. That and it's clear that Aranda is intensely focused, very good at what he does, and smart. Those kinds of people rarely last behind someone like O without a huge benefit. Translation: His pay.

If he actually saw value beyond money, it wouldn't have been so much of a raise. But money is clearly the most important thing.

Those girls should never have to pay for a drink in Baton Rouge again!

A&M was doing the same thing. Do you really think that extra $200k/yr scared away aggie?

He was getting money regardless.

His decision to stay was because of family and Orgeron if we take him at his word.

It isn't a crazy thought. We set a new base on coordinators via our terrible coaching payment structure strategy. We overpaid, straight up, and they may have balked. It isn't about the $200k it's about the perception of a coach at that level.

And no one wants 2 $2.5 million coordinators on their books, but we set those terms up. The expectations are bigger, the margins on success are smaller. If he doesn't immediately continue being the #1 coordinator in the country, that's a huge problem because his salary is never going down.

Sammy Tiger came the closest when he said,
quote:

I assumed the people downvoting where Onpumpers who want to pretend like he stayed cause he respects O so much.

quote:

I didn't see anyone calling him a liar

It's really splitting hairs at this point. Did he say, "liar". No he didn't. Did he imply that when he used the word "pretend"? You be the judge.

That's fair. I took it as the money had more to do with it, but the way you laid it out makes a good case. So, that's one. I really thought I was missing something because the term "people" was used. I was looking for something a little more obvious I suppose.
