Alleva will not be making the next football head coach hire.

I hope that's true. But, it's one of those believe it when I see it situations for me.

My dream is for LSU to win the title this year, fire Orgeron on the trophy stage and immediately promote Aranda.

I agree with the OP. If O is out Alleva would very likely be as well. As O has attached his fate to Ensminger, Alleva has attached his to O.

You see a lot of college coordinators out there making 2 mill? Can you list me 1 other one? Also can anyone tell me if there are any NFL coordinators making over 2.5 Million?

The market is constantly changing. Every time a team raises the bar, someone else is willing to match it. A&M "broke the bank" with Fisher, but it won't be long before someone else pays another coach the same. I have no doubt at all that any number of other teams would pony up if they thought they could get the best DC in the country. And as caterpillar noted above, don't forget about HC jobs.

quote:

Make (I assume you meant "Maybe") A&M offered 2.5, but that’s 2.5 for a lateral move. To walk away from a top 15 defense and try and rebuild something.

If he was unhappy with LSU/Orgeron, he would, especially if he liked the challenge. How long would it take him to rebuild somewhere else? It didn't taken him long to revamp LSU.

Sounds like he genuinely loves his current working environment.
LINK
Around the 5:20 mark he talks about staying
And towards the end a reporter asks him if he ever gets angry and Aranda says "No, not really"

He was angry during that Tennessee game last year.

Not according to Alleva. Pretty sure he said he won't hire a coach without previous head coaching experience.

Well good thing that imbecile won't be making the next hire.

I never Said he was unhappy. He’s respected, paid at the VERY top of his field (I notice you didn’t list any College or pro coordinator making more than him) Fisher isn’t even the top paid HC. He makes a frick ton of money but he’s still below Davis and Nick. And only 500k over Harbaugh.

And he’s having success. I dont See Dave as the type to move unless it makes sense.

Taking a lateral position for a “challenge” is dumb. How did it go for Chief? Maybe it’s A&M and not the coordinators?

But Aranda doesn’t have to figure that out. He also doesn’t have to figure out if he likes Fisher.

LSU likely matched or bumped A&Ms offer. Staying put makes sense for anyone who doesnt actively hate O.

And I dont Think Aranda hates O. That’s not my point.

I had to make my mark nah I’m stoked O was able to keep him. I couldn’t imagine if he’d gone to the aggies.

Just wow.

I didn't say or imply that he was unhappy or that you said he was. I pointed out that unhappiness could contribute to a lateral move.

(I notice you didn’t list any College or pro coordinator making more than him)

No, I didn't. I did explain why that's not much of an argument to stand on. Let me rephrase my question: wanna bet that SOME OTHER DC doesn't get $2.5 million within a couple of years? I guess you missed the part about the market changing.

I didn't say or imply that. You said he wouldn't want to go somewhere else to rebuild. I said if he was unhappy where he was, the challenge wouldn't stop him from leaving.

I am sure they will but that doesn’t take value from him making like $700k more than the next highest paid DC NOW.

Also I dont Think he could have gotten that anywhere. I think A&M was bankrolled to win big, and LSU was willing to pay anything to keep him. Put him in a. Bidding war. He’s an I credible Coordinator but is he that much better than Bret Venable’s?
