If Aranda wants to be a HC, more power to him. Maybe he's just bored with being a DC. UNLV or CSU? You gotta start somewhere.

Both those schools have loads of untapped potential

Come on.

Potential to do what?!?!

Aranda should be able to get a job in the Power 5 at this point.

ACC? Yeah I think he can get a job there.

UNLV AND CSU Gross

Bo was a beast for sure... wonder how he his defenses have done with the spread-offenses and new style offenses since he left.
Itll be a big named guy though..wont be Bo

Would hate to see Aranda leave. Our D should be really stout next year!

If that's the case, he'll have options at better schools.

Will he?

I don't see where he has gotten an interview with any major schools.

Some good coaches have started at some pretty shitty places. I wouldn't consider UNLV but CSU, you can do ok and parley that into a better job.

Obviously in this case if he was considering them, then its not even remotely about the money but finally getting a shot as a HC.

It doesn't look like any major programs have even sniffed around him, so he may think he needs to just get his HC job anywhere and hopefully succeed.

It’s always about the money, Bunchie, or he wouldn’t have flexed on LSU for a raise.

Colorado St’s last coach was at $1.5mil, still significantly lower than what he makes now.

These are jobs for retreads, not up and coming coaches. They can’t afford Aranda. They are looking at him, not vice versa.

That’s generally how you become a head coach of a big school

I wouldnt say generally. Definitely a way though. Another way is to be a top coordinate in the country for a big time school for a long period.

Are Colorado State and UNLV even jobs that people should entertain?

Colorado State views themselves as the next Group of 5 power. They're putting a lot of money into their football program. That's going to be a good job.

UNLV is going to have access the the new Las Vegas Raiders facilities. Edit: UNLV seems to be targeting Oregon's OC.

These are both very good jobs.

Right

He’s a west coast guy so naturally there is a connection there.

But I just can’t see him going to either school. Huge step down.

Would Raymond be a candidate for the DC position? Opens a staff spot for Wilson?

Jeff Hafley will never leave OSU except as a head coach, where he already has some suitors. Hasn't even been at OSU for one year but he and Day are very close friends and coached together in the pros...

Jim Leonhard should be up there. He's like Aranda, but better.

I don't think the world will come to an end, or the defense will roll over because Aranda wants to leave.

As far as distractions? The whole season has been something of a distraction. It's just an Asst Coach.
