Absolutely. Him & Lamar Brown would feast in a 3-4

Geralds is pretty light in the pants to play the 5T.

More likely Aranda would just more 4-2 base fronts while he has the dudes

It’s been a few years now but what was the downside of Aranda’s defenses? I know overall he’s a brilliant defensive minded coach, but I don’t recall some of his weaknesses.

He took heat for recruiting (which now is a negligible concern) and 3rd down defenses

Ali vs Foreman
He takes punches learns and beats you in the end. In other words I thought him a counter puncher. Slow to start figures it out by the end. Two cents lol

Good. Get him back in the fold just in case Baker takes a head coaching job.

People here felt like the bend don’t break method was a problem.

But that’s just because those idiots expect us to hold teams to less than 50 yards of offense every game.

As long as Baker and him work together why not.

I am sure Aranda would be happy to step back and not have to tak eon all the responsibility he he has had the last few years. Just consult and advise while enjoying the buyout.

Watch the national championship game against Clemson again. It’s a perfect example of Aranda’s style.
Didn’t look good at the beginning, but the adjustments were brilliant. Totally shut down Clemson as the game went on.

The best part of it would be he would likely be back long term.

I like this move. Assuming Aranda is the “DC in waiting” with Baker likely a head coach in the off season, what changes would that mean in general in the scheme switch. It seems Baker is heavy blitz focused in the interior where Aranda has focused on clogging the interior and simulating blitzes to create opportunities on defense. I guess do we have the players in place year 1 if Aranda does indeed take over if/when Baker leaves?
