Wasn't LSU #1 in the Coaches? Lots of cryin' here.

I'm laughing at USC being number one. After the way Miles finished the season, starting QB with no SEC experience, LSU has a lot to prove. Personally LSU being 3-5 is very legit.

12 voters changed their minds on LSU because of TM7, really? Why? The other 104 young men should be pissed to think they are not worthy.

Will they vote again if, for instance, Matt Barkley tears his ACL? Doubt it.

And will they if two more LSU starters are lost to ineligibility?

I have seen WVU #1 too, not that far fetched, imo.

USC will lose 2-3 games this season because their injuries and lack of depth will catch up with them

I love how when Mathieu was on the team, the media called him over rated and a liability in coverage.

Now that he's not on the team, he was the difference maker and we would have been #1 with him.

Try dealing with reality. I like miles but im not in denial. Miles was not at his best the last few games of the season. Lots of weird shite was going on. To be honest there is still lots a shite going on.

This shows how much voters enjoy sensationalizing college football. I would have been fine if this were the first poll, but revealing that TM7 was worth 12 voters going with USC is hysterical. I loved watching Tyrann play, but to think that a 5'-9" nickleback was going to even come close to repeating what he did last year is a bit far fetched. It took a historical season from him just to finish 4th in the Heisman, a season that was only bested by a defensive player once before. So to me, losing TM7 is not a giant loss as he likely would have had an above average season but not close to last years gamechanger, it's just too hard to repeat. Obviously I am probably biased at some level, but his loss is not worth the downvotes to me.

Not to hijack the thread, but which starters would you rather lose, a QB or a CB? We lost a QB last year to start and won the SEC with an undefeated record. I'd much rather be in this seasons scenario.

Lastly, I wholeheartedly agree with the posters pointing out Oregon as a road block for USC, especially since they will likely face one another in the PAC-12 title game. It's a bitch to try and beat a quality team twice in a season.

why do people get so worked up over preseason polls?

who cares? as long as you are top 5 or 8 and take care of business you will be there in the end. If USC really is the number 1 team then so be it, we will see them in Miami in Jan.
