Dropping two spots fro where? This is the first poll of the season

The Tigers were poised to start the season No. 1 before Heisman Trophy finalist Tyrann Mathieu got kicked off the team a week ago.

In light of that development, the AP extended the voting deadline. Before Mathieu was dismissed, reportedly for failed drug tests, LSU had received 28 of a possible 60 first-place votes. USC was a close second with 22 first-place votes and Alabama was third with nine.

ESPN implies that LSU would have been #1. Whatever that means...considering they're just listing #1 votes and not each complete ballot.

Most purposefully antagonizing beat writer in America. If UCLA were decent he'd vote them over USC just to piss off the team he covers.

Like I said, ESPN implies...but by extending the vote...obviously some changed their 1st place votes...otherwise how would the AP claim LSU had 28 before the dismissal?

Maybe so. Did AP claim that or ESPN? Either way, if you are number 3 and beat #2, then you become #2- at the least and probably #1

See that's what I'm talking about.

ESPN only reported the #1 votes LSU supposedly lost.

Instead of reflecting the entire poll with retarded voting like that which hurt LSU more.

Who knows if they would have been #1 before TM7?

I'm glad that they have overrated USCw ranked #1.

Will be all the more sweet when they lose and drop from the number 1 spot. I think they will lose at least 2 games, maybe 3. Oregon will be one loss, the second I'm not sure until the season starts. I want to see who replaces Luck @ QB for Stanford, Nottingham or Nunes. They host California after the Stanford game, and the Washington away game could be interesting. Then it's UCLA and Notre Dame to finish out the season.

10-2 at best, but the AP writers keep them in the Top 10 at the end of the season, ranked somewhere around 7 to 10, unless they happen to drop 3 games.

Sports writers love the pac what ever...there's consistently weak arse football teams every year there and it makes them look good to pick a team like USC #1. There's not a single team in that conference outside of Oregon that might give them a scare. Barkley is unbelievably over rated....dude's not played against a defense in his career worth a dam but he's the next coming of Joe Montana.

Yes in the past decade the SEC is hovering only around .500 vs. the PAC-whatever

Yes. Losing the best defensive playmaker in CFB will do that. In Vegas, odds makers have dropped LSU a point on every game. That rarely happens when teams lose a defensive player.

LSU has done superb vs. pac10. Something and one.

He was the one who brought up PAC-whatever and and called them weak on the TIGER RANT. So I responded with objective data. And since you also brought up a conference, are you talking about the same "shite conference" that the SEC has hovered around .500 in the last decade? I thought so.

Your conference is shite. Remind me how many National Champions , in football, the PAC shite has , in the last 20 years. Please don't count vacated titles.

Congrats on the top PAC shite teams beating low level sec teams. Now bring up USC destroying Arky, the west winner. That's one game

Right on the money. Their D line is going to get annihilated in the run game and their lack of a consistent pass rush is going to make it more difficult for the secondary to cover. Each of their starting linebackers have also have been injured. Their offense will be good, but their defense is going to lose them at least one, probably two games.
