Can say what you want but Leonard didn’t have the chest

More worried about injury/paycheck than dominating imo

I think we saw this happen with Fournette. Remember he tapped out late in the season and skipped the bowl. You can make every excuse you want for him, saying the bowl didn't mean anything... but it's a team game, and ultimately Fournette was in it for himself only. And that's translated to the NFL.

Size and speed are great in high school and college but in the NFL just about everyone has the size and speed. Fournette lacks that explosiveness and vision that the great backs in the NFL have. Fred Taylor mentioned that in his rookie season with the jags and by his second season with the jags it was very obvious. Fournette is avg back with good hands for catching passes and that's about it. Henry was just a man amongst boys just bigger and faster and in a perfect offense built around that. Unfortunately for Henry no one is running that offense anymore. Give it to fournette he has had a good NFL career and won a superbowl ring.

Fournette lets himself get fat.

Henry is a workout warrior. There is your answer.

This man gets it. If LF would get himself in optimum shape and keep it there, he could spend another 3-4 years in the league. Maybe Leonard should give Derrick a call.

Taboo, but Henry as a back reminded me more of Guice than Fournette.

Guice was the better back. He could slip, slide and pivot. Things Fournette wasn't especially good at. Another great college rb who wasn't dominant in the NFL is Darren McFadden. He dominated college but if you're stiff in the hips, the NFL will shut you down. Neither D-Mac or Fournette had any wiggle at all.

Why is having a conversation discussing why Derrick Henry has been surprisingly better than Leonard Fournette in the NFL so offensive and slanderous

Henry's been better than every back drafted in the last 10 years, and with the NFL's deprioritizing the position, a back taken in the second round has been considered for a long time now to be a high pick for a running back. Henry, for example, was only the second running back taken in 2016 even though he lasted until the second round.

So no, given the facts surrounding the position and the reality that we're only talking one round difference, it's not surprising at all.

I’m not surprised at all. Power runners seem to all have an attitude towards breaking tackles. Derrick Henry, combined with his size, may be the best we’ve seen, and will see for a long time. Think beast mode on every carry. Fornette had IT too but not on every carry.

Derrick has a stiff arm that sets him apart.

Leonard is overweight.

Fournette was better in college and also got beat to shite. Henry had plenty of runs where not a soul touched him.

To be fair, even with miles on his body, Leonard still seemed to get lazy and spoiled. Henry has a whole other fire in the pros.

Big bruising running backs never last long in the NFL. Fournette should have made himself slimmer and quicker.

Henry was just a more elusive back overall and avoided contact despite being just as large as Fournette.

Yeah because Tennessee was leaps and bounds better than jacksonville

Fournette is one of the most overhyped players in the last 25 years.
