I think most coaches dislike media in general.

I couldn't hear what exactly was said. I hate that we can't properly mic a media session.

This isn't a one-off event. Orgeron has tried to fight journalists before. If he didn't have a history then we'd be giving him the benefit of the doubt.

I love our coach. Nothing like having a Football coach with a past of restraining orders from women due to violence and trying to fight jounalists. such a great hire.

Anyone know why Orgeron reacted so strongly to the Pete Carroll/Jerry Sullivan question?I’m sure O realizes he’s in over his head. He’s probably starting to feel the same way he did when he was at Ole Miss. Some guys just aren’t cut out to be head coaches, and unfortunately, LSU has one of those guys. I’d imagine as the losses start coming, TAF will look to move Alleva out. No way will TAF allow Alleva to hire the next coach. They will let the new AD, whom ever that will be, make the next hire.
What a collection of arrogant dumbass sons of bitches you are. Move to Tuscaloosa where your 65IQ belongs.

Why the frick is he here? What does he do well?

-Dirty recruiting when he’s an assistant to a competent coach
-Conning gullible athletic directors and fan bases

Not really and don’t really care. I’m tired of hearing about it though

But you felt the need to come into a thread about it to comment on how you don’t care about it and are tired of hearing about it. That makes you a moron.

I thought this was about what actually happened at a press conference and why O got his buttons pushed and sorting that out. But it's really about FIRE O all day every day. Now I get it. Stupid of me to wade in and disrupt the Narrative.
welcome to the new rant same as the old rant.

All of you "Fire O" people...What happens if he gets fired and your next savior coach comes in and lays an egg?

Yep. Exactly what happened at Bama, so they fired him, and when the next guy was mediocre* they fired him. Finally they hired Saban. Five to eight national titles later they'll be back in the cycle. But at Bama thay will stay in the cycle until they start producing national titles.

* By mediocre I don't literally mean mediocre. They fired Bill Curry after an 10-2 season.

But Saban yells at reporters too.

Whether you like him or not, he's earned that right.

Special Ed has not.

Reporter asks O about staff and Sullivan traveling to Seattle to “learn” from Pete Carroll. O interrupts and says Sullivan went to teach them not learn. Crowd chuckles a bit. Reporter tries to clarify what he thought O said previously but was interrupted again. O tells him what he said and asks if he’s clear on that.

It was an odd exchange and there was no reason for O to lose his cool.

Got no problem with making a mistake in good faith and after due diligence is exercised. If the successor lays an egg, we will have done the best we could to hire the best coach available. The selection of Orgeron was a bust from the start, and very few thought he was the best available and fewer thought Alleva exercised due diligence.
As another HC neaarby says, "process is important."

Word.

And nobody wants LSU to fail, we've just been watching college football at our school our whole lives and we can smell dog shite without having to step in it first to prove it.

How about we frame it this way:

When was the last time we felt like LSU overachieved rather than underachieved because of its head coach?

If you feel like Ed O is putting our football program in the best position to overachieve, power to you.

I just can't say that, and it doesn't mean I want LSU to fail.

I think light-hearted ridicule would've been an appropriate response. But O looked like he wanted to beat the guy up.
