Coach O thinks Coach Sullivan has been treated disrespectfully ( that’s not even a debatable point ) and he over compensated and looked foolish. He feels his friend and colleagues has a resume that demands respect. Maybe he forgot about the mutual respect part though. It was a mistake- I’ve done worse .

If this is how he's acting in off season preseason press conferences he's going to implode during the season. The dude just has thin skin and shouldn't be running a major program.

O is unstable. No telling what will set him off.

His loyalists love that though, intimidating a reporter.

You're 1/2 right. The question was stupid, not tough. It was given the attention and respect it deserved.

Same reason that Saban does it. You know in advance who's out to ask "gotcha questions" or is an enemy of your staff..so when they do ask question, you humiliate them and make sure they stick to real football questions when in that setting.
His point is that we have a coach that a Super Bowl winning coach asked to attend so his professional staff could learn from Sullivan. Write about that! That's a big deal.

He’s probably sick of shithead reporters asking questions that have nothing to do with the events of the day and are looking to only make a joke about the age of one of his coaches. We are 3 weeks into spring practice and this dip shite decides to ask about something that happened months ago. I get that you most of the people here hate O and everything that he is and everything he does with the program but none of you have seen anything other than a few short videos from reporters given a 10-15 minute window to watch the start of practice. I hate that our fanbase on this website wants the team to fail so spectacularly just so they get what they want, for the HC to be fired. It is truly pathetic.

You think every other coach in the country doesn't get ridiculous questions? There are a million ways to answer them. I thought the entire purpose of his being here is to be the figure head, and he can't even do that well.

Maybe he'd benefit from one-on-one sessions with a communications professor, because handling crap like this is part of coaching 101. He, and by extension the university are the ones that suffer when he looks like an unstable oaf that can't deflect a simple question.

Exactly. It's a study in rudimentary psychology. The angriest, dumbest, most unhinged portion of our fanbase sees themselves in O. So, naturally, they lash out and defend him when he acts like they do. E.g., angry, overly emotionally and lacking in critical thought. I don't know how many times O has to do EXACTLY the kind of pathetic shite he pulled at Ole Miss for people to realize he hasn't and won't change.

Because Herr Ponamsky put a section in the Binder that he has to treat the media in the same manner as the Sith Lord Saban does.

In context, asswipe

You have to learn how to control your setting when with your home press group. Plenty of negative stuff will be printed by others, no need for it to happen at a local press conference.

Plus, the reporter was a moron and couldn't understand that he was wrong. It was needed
