"They do a great job," Florida coach Billy Donovan said. "They are a physical team that knows how to play physically. They do a great job of fouling without it being called. And I say that as a compliment. Our guys are still trying to figure things like that out."

He is referring to our physicality IMO. To me its a compliment. I get what he's saying. Mature teams know how to play physical (sometimes fouling without it looking obvious). He admitted his guys are trying to learn how to do this better.

thats a compliment. fouling/playing physical while avoiding the calls is a good thing(not dirty). calm down fellas, he was actually being complimentary.

Everybody thinks it is a compliment because after he says it he says " I say that as a compliment". No, the first sentence in his quote was a compliment, the rest was him being aggravated we were not getting called for fouls and discrediting the win.

that's how you take a shot at the refs without getting reprimanded.

It's an accurate quote. The truth is that all good defensive teams "figure out" the officials early and find out how physical they can be and get away with it.

Compliment or not, it's accurate. These guys defensively remind me a lot of the 2004 Pistons. If you drive to the goal, a defender will give you just enough of a hard-to-spot hip bump to slow you down just enough that it's a little harder to take it to the goal.

Simply put, the team is ballsy enough to be really aggressive but smart enough to pull back when they've figured out how far they can go with it. It's a smart team with a smart coach. And Donovan, a smart coach, noticed it and pointed it out.

Oh yeah, and GERMANS.

Sounds to me like a coach who has won two National Titles and lost a championship game said LSU has a very good coach.

That was Donovan's way of saying the SEC refs suck, and getting away with it. We can all agree with that.
