That is about a third-compliment and 2/3 whining about the refs in such a way that he hopes not to look like a whiner. If he really wanted to compliment the Tigers, he would have said that they "play physically without getting fouls called." Instead, he makes it clear that we actually were "fouling." Personally, I don't think LSU got any more of the benefit of the doubt that usually goes with being the home team - I have certainly seen much worse!

Its a backhanded compliment, but it is a compliment or admiration, if you will. All teams want to be able to get away with their fouling. Physicalness is a goal of all teams, including his. To be physical is to foul. We are more physical than most because we are a veteran team. The longer you play at a level the more you become more physical at that level. NBA veterans would be much more physical. Don't you remember your agressiveness improving as you grew up as a player?
