I am not even sure 8-0 gets him the job.
And I am not sure Orgeron will suddenly make the OL play better, because if we're being honest, thats why LSU lost their two games, not Les.

I am rooting for Orgeron, but LSU would be taking a huge chance on him. If he goes tits up in 2017, both he and Alleva will be looking for work.
would rather take a shot on a young up and comer like a Brohm or Fleck than O.

How do people want O over Jimbo?
Posted on 9/29/16 at 9:39 am to Solo Cam
Hiring Coach O would be the equivalent of hiring Kevin Steele two years ago. The only difference is people like Coach O because he's a character.

Hiring him today vs hiring him after taking the team 8-0 is not the same question

If not Herman or Fisher then I would be fine with coach O.

That's like saying if we can't get Brees or Manning, I'll take Patrick Ramsay.
Why skip over Rodgers or Brady to go straight to the local guy that won stuff that didn't matter and doesn't have the right qualifications for the job?

Sure, if the team plays well for the rest of the season

Well if he found a way to beat the rest including Bama, what Les couldn't do in years then he would have to stay pretty much

I'm not sure I get the excitement for O, but he is hashust as great a chance as anybody, maybe more so since he's interim and will be a lot cheaper. That is along the lines of what LSU is likely to do. Find someone like him with a lot of question marks for cheap.

but if LSU is gonna go the cheaper route , why not go cheaper on an up and comer like jeff brohm or venables, the DC at clempson ?

I am. Even if he only sticks around a few years. I am not sure I want another long haul guy if its not Herman.

Les is in charge of the entire team. If the OL plays poorly, yes, part of that is on the OLine coach but Les hired the coach, and recruited the players. The head coach gets paid monster bucks because it's all his responsibility.
And yes it was Les' fault we lost - the clock management during the last minute at Auburn was atrocious. Again, the HC's responsibility.

So there's not another coach in the entire United States of America that you would want, besides Herman? Sounds a bit ridiculous, don't you think?

eh....
I'll be pretty let down if LSU doesn't land Herman.
and to your point about Les, I will agree, the buck stops with him, which is why he was fired, but I am just sick of reading over and over about how Miles boring offense couldn't get it done. Etling threw 27 passes vs. Auburn, and 30 vs. Ms St.
for the first time that I can ever remember , I was yelling at my TV for LSU to run the ball more. it was like watching bizarro LSU.

Willie Taggart
He has an overall losing record at South Florida.

he is like 10th on my list, but in his defense, he has improved every year while there.

If he wins out the Admin will have no choice.

Whose to say Herman won't meet expectations his first few years at LSU. It's a shot you take and you make the best hire in all phases of the job.
CEO makes a great face for the program being a Louisiana man, as we all see so far he passes the eye test with what he has changed and said so far. But he needs to get them ready for game days and I believe he can do it. But he can't try to be the jack of all trades again. He needs to keep this momentum and ride it into the end of the season and I hope we go 10-2 with a chance to win the SEC west.
