Anyone else hear Jimmy Smith on WWL Sports Talk yesterday? Re: Stingley.

He was reporting that Stingley knows these Texas wide receivers. He said he as talked to family members and they informed Jimmy Smith that Stingley has been matched up with these guys before on the 7 on 7 circuit, something Stingley was participating in since 8th grade.
Jimmy also mentioned that opposing offensive coordinators will test him early but by the middle of the season they will completely stay away from his side of the defense on passing downs.

That is awesome. Stingley is going to be a special player.

The guy has been training for this his whole life. He'll be ready.

I think this is where the CFB world gets formally introduced to him. Expecting a big return at some point, and won't be shocked at all if he grabs an int when they keep trying to test him.

Stingley is going to be a Top 3 pick in 3 years. Book it.

Think before you type, moron.

Stingley has one game college under his belt. How many do these WRs have?
Just because he met them at a camp 3-5 years ago doesn't mean he's an expert on these players. I have full faith in Stingley to be able to handle it, but to say this is some big advantage is stupid.

So teams are just going to stop throwing against us all together? They will get a rude awakening when they turn to the other side of the field and try to hit Fulton's man.

Don't be shocked when he gives up a few receptions but yeah... he will get a pick in this game no doubt. UT's RB situation will make sure that they throw plenty.

I didn't listen but was he implying that Stingley was an expert on the Texas receivers? Or was he mentioning an interesting fact that showed just how long he has been going against elite competition?

Yeah, the fact that he's faced them before isn't an advantage over the alternative at all. Are you trying to sound stupid or does it just come naturally to you?

I mentioned this yesterday but I will mention it again today. During yesterday's Will Cain Show, the Texas vs LSU matchup was being discussed. As the segment went along, it was mentioned that the matchup had been discussed with an AFC scout in terms of the talent levels on both sides. It was passed on that the scout said he felt Stingley is better than Fulton which sounds crazy because Fulton will be one of the first corners off the board in the next NFL Draft.

quote:Which receiver specifically? Also what do you think is more beneficial- practicing every single day against NFL talent or playing 20 games against shitty CBs that won’t sniff NFL rosters.

Stingley is a freshman but age doesn’t mean talent as Trevor Lawrence taught the country last year.
quote:Its a confidence builder which is absolutely an advantage. Stingley is confident he can face these guys and win. That’s fricking huge.

There is a reason he was the highest rated CB ever coming out of high school

Just looking at your recent post history I can definitively say you are a huge prick

One day players will win the Stingley Trophy for being the best college football player.

No way the coaches are as dumb as the writers and think they will target him all game. I’m not saying nobody will complete a pass against us this year, but I don’t think any of our DB’s will get “picked on”

I’m implying that your a dumbass.
