I live north of Knoxville. PF is not a bad drive if you hit the traffic right. It's an hour but could take 2-3 if you leave during peak times. If you're coming early you'll have fun in PF.

Neyland Stadium is the worst stadium I've been in for comfort. All these posts are right. I'm 6'2, 220. No elbow room, no arse room, no leg room. The sight lines are pretty good though.

I'll be there too simply bc it's the closest game to me this year.

Tennessee has a nice campus.

I lived in Knoxville in the 90's and beg to differ. It is the smallest SEC campus outside of Vanderbilt. Landlocked. Has virtually zero green space. Overall it is just plumb ugly. Not sure how the flagship university of the state end ed up that way.

Have not been there in years...had a store there, but the games were fun....stadium is dated.
The boats at the stadium is something fun and unique (tailgating) . They even rent the boats and there are river cruises also.

Stadium is OK, you are packed in there like sardines. We went with some friends who alternate coming here when they play here. We stayed in Gatlinburg, tailgating kind of sucked (compared to LSU) Fans were total Aholes after we beat them, ticked off our friends and one of them who is a pretty big dude was about to start beating down his own people the way they were treating us. Had a cup thrown on us on the way out the stadium.

Other than that enjoy. I bought 4 tickets but don't think we are going to go now.

went the two most recent times. amazing trip. we stayed in the legacy vista cabins. wow. hiked rainbow falls.

went to calhoun's before and after the game which was way cool. don't bother with the strip after the game. that's like trying to eat at stadium walkon's right after/before the game. forget about it.

one thing about the strip in pigeon forge, they must think that go carts are the most popular thing ever because there is a go cart track every few feet. i counted 7 just on the strip.

drove along cherokee blvd which was interesting. kind of like their version of highland road.

Great game day atmosphere. UT fans are very inviting and the Tennessee River makes for beautiful scenery. Neyland Stadium, on the otherhand, is just ok.

Agree, besides being on the river, there isn't much that's nice about the campus.

The last that I was in the stadium was when Norman Jefferson was the only bright spot for the Tigers.(1980's) I did, however, attend a military reunion in May. Bruch was provided each day at Mariot near the river. One evening a meal was provided on the paddle boad cruise on the Tennessee River. We dined two times in Market Square. There is a sports bar called Soccer Taco which serves Mexican food and beverages. It did have a waiting line about 5 PM on a Saturday. They would be competitive in Houston, I suspect.

Used public transporation. The entire city seems to be exceptionally clean and tourist friendly. Enjoy your stay.

Are you fat, obese, morbidly obese and look like Barney when you wear your purple LSU shirt? If yes to any of the above, then don't go.

My wife and I - Went in 2011 river view is nice - stadium ok -tight squeeze - some parts of campus are very pretty---u will learn to hate rocky top quickly ---we happened to sit next to three very well dressed elderly ladies (sisters)whose father had had season tickets and had passed the tickets down to them- they were elegantly , well mannered and dressed-in fur collared coats, heels and were absolutely southern ladies to the tee- we talked SEC football pretty much the whole game as LSU put it away pretty early. By 4th qtr the drunk hillbillies showed their arse and several fights broke out below us. The sisters were not impressed and made comments regarding hillbilly ancestry lol. All in all had a great time - PS did I mention u will learn to hate rocky top early in 1st qtr.???

Beautiful campus? It is easily the ugliest campus in the SEC. Just horrible architecture. The city is great though.

Go to Calhouns on the river. They have a good setup. They know the LSU fans are coming.

The weather should be great.
