Anybody know how the current players are reacting to Kelly?

An easy way to figure out which ones need to be benched is to see which ones don’t like the hire. Kelly isn’t a friend, he’s a coach. He’s there to coach them to titles, not to be their buddy and talk about bitches and pussy with.

Only one that I've seen is Bech.
And it seemed to be a good one.
This is normal though.
You have a coach that you're loyal to,
that recruited you and brought you to and won an NC get fired.
Now the new guy steps in and says, "You're dad left but I'm your new dad."

I think all will be fine and back to normal soon.

Our future Heisman-winning QB Walker Howard seems pretty excited.

As with anything, I'm sure some will love it and others will hate it.

Spoke with a senior o-lineman yesterday, he said pretty much everyone has taken to it well with the exception of one player. Didn’t get the name but he said it’s someone who been battling a back injury and hasn’t played much.

Name rhyme with “page”?

Not good if true.

I wonder why he would hate the hire.

Might just be an excuse to transfer. Hopefully it's someone else.

I hear that they feel quite inadequate and borderline embarrassed when they're around him.

I know some of the freshmen players and parents are happy with the hire.

I don't think that kid really wanted to be at LSU in the first place, TBH. I had the same feeling about Boutte during recruiting.

I thought Boutte would stick around given that he's probably only got a year left. I hope I'm right about that.

I also think part of the reason people are saying Faulk is one of the coaches that are safe was due to the guy being discussed in this thread. Seems like promises may have been made.

If we want to change the culture of the program, something I think everyone wants, it starts with having guys who truly want to be there.

Honestly, the past 2 recruiting cycles, I think there has been a lot of over selling and under delivering.

Orgeron was a tenacious recruiter and a great salesman. He was selling what he wanted the program to be but simply have the ability to achieve that vision.

Hopefully most of the guys will start buying into Kelly's vision for the program, or at least give him a chance through the spring.

But all in all, I really can't blame kids for considering transferring. They didn't sign up for the shite show that was the last 2 years.

I hear you and mostly agree, but half of these kids have been “hurt” much of the past 2 years also… Including a certain star player currently in the portal who wants to join a winner

I think this is a result of poor leadership from the top as much as anything.

I don't care how they react. Kelly is the coach. They can get with the program, or they can get gone!

exactly, if they want to go, sit them down and lay out how they could benefit from staying, but if that's not what they truly want, they should go.They would be a detriment if they stay and aren't happy. We're not likely to win the national championship next year, the championship mindset has to be there, and you could tell the last 2 seasons that alot of people in the program had lost it.
