I always said the same thing they should have kept the BCS and take the top 4 teams. I knew it wouldn’t be long until we had some political bullshite just like they had before the came out with the BCS.

Yeah, let’s have a system where the defending national champions could go 13-0 including scheduling 2 SEC teams and get left out that would be AWSOME!!!!

Counting this year’s USCe team as traditional SEC-caliber is generous and besides they play every year as in-state rivals regardless. It’s not like Clemson scheduled them for the SOS boon

The committee could work if there were guidelines for ranking. Instead it's a "what am I feeling today" system with a bunch of people that are too busy to watch all the football required to make an objective ruling. Instead, it's purely subjective and you know its influenced highly by the talking heads and box scores.

Just make it open to eight teams and set up the rankings as they do in the NFL and be done with it

What people are complaining about now isn't the committee's final decision, it's the way ESPN uses the committee to keep discussion (and viewers up) going before the final decision. None of this matters, I wish all of you would get that.

It's better now simply because there are 4, but no matter which way the 4 are chosen, there will be whiners. Best to be whining about being screwed at #5 than #3, though. 16 is too many, people calling for that really don't care about college football traditions, conferences, or anything. 6 would be the most reasonable number to increase it to, because every year #'s 7 and 8 most likely blew a game or two that rightfully should take them out of the picture.

I know, how would that be better to leave an undefeated defending national champ out? The Sandy vaginas on here are in nuclear meltdown because we dropped to #2, what the hell would happen if we were left out entirely ala 2004 Auburn

Polls in general are stupid. Do power points and 32 teams.

Or just go back to unrelated bowls and mythical champions. That way was better as more teams get to end the year on a high note.

This current system exacerbates the lack of parity.

Oregon 13-0
Ohio State 13-0
LSU 13-0
Clemson 13-0
Oklahoma 13-0

While this is true the BCS let you know where you stood. We would bitch but there wouldn’t be a magic moving target

The correct system was and always had been the BCS, but set up in a playoff format. The introduction of a committee was tantamount to taking two steps backwards after having taken one step forward.

Revamp the whole damn system and go like NFL but with 8 teams.

Winner of each power 5 conference is in. Figure out the other 3.

I always thought the BCS was the best system. I was for using the BCS system until the end of the season and put the best 8 teams into a playoff. That way “an eye test” isn’t needed from a bunch of morons in a committee

The same committee who has put the same four teams in that the BCS would have every year?

Just call it what it is. You don't like the CFP rankings THIS WEEK, so you are melting like a bitch, and this is the argument you want to make because you think it's a good argument.

I think you're misunderstanding. I thought they were saying bcs rankings until playoffs and then the top 8 bcs ranked teams are in the playoffs. No committee at all. I think that would be best personaly and it has nothing to do with the rankings this week. I've been advocating for at least an expansion on the # of teams in the playoffs. I would like to see conference championships go too but I know some people would hate it because of the tradition.
