this is my take on BK.

liked the hire, still do. i think what he's doing with the staff and recruiting, will pay dividends down the road.

we all live in a me "me now" world, and with NIL and the transfer portal, it can now happen in football quicker than it used to be able to.....but i still think he's building LSU on the DL and OL like nick did in 2000. results to be determined.

now, i personally picked USC 34-31, simply because i did not feel we have the studs on the D line to beat good teams, however, i thought we'd run the ball better than we did outside of some spots that were great effort by Emory. with that said, i think this D will get better, and be beter than next year, to a degree. the gaping holes i saw while at the game were alarming, so its either scheme again, or the guys in the trenches aren't holdping up yet. some youngs in there too, so hopefully these next few weeks will be major development time and we can go into Ole Miss with some momentum.

now kelly's in game coaching. i get the impression from last year and again this year, he wants to create this "we are going to dominate you out the gate", with the way he's handled these opening drives, and going for it, and failing. if he gets them, we're having different discussions, but here we are. and because you fail, it can have the opposite effect on your team and give the other team some juice. people can say what they want about USC fans and their team, but they all showed up and showed out in that stadium. but kelly needs to learn, that until he actually has a dominating team, 3 points is a win even when the pundits say "USC holding LSU to a fg here must feel like a win for USC". points on the board are a plus for you regardless.

with that said, USC fans were there and made their presence known, their team came to play and they had a few more football fortune bounces go their way. not saying they were lucky, they looked more penetrating at the point of the attack more so than us, but when we made plays to get a turnover, the ball always bounced to them, and their receiver made an insane play. so USC earned it, and they were the beneficiaries to some of those football things only the Gods can influence. I do think LSU will be right at 10-2 this year. the defense will grow and Nuss will improve.

Big difference is Tebow had a track record of successfulness. What has Kelly accomplished as far as accolades to make you confident he’ll take LSU to a National Championship?

It was childish and cringy.

You're the leader. Take responsibility instead of blaming it on your subordinates.

100% dead on. Kelly's a responsible, long term coach who's embracing NIL when LSU needed it most. Everyone knows that he's going to get the program moving in the right direction for long term success, even if he's not necessarily the best game day coach. Coach O left LSU in dire straits and that's what was needed. Kelly needs to accept the reality that electing to receive in the first quarter, or especially going for it on 4th and goal and failing, dramatically alters your likelihood to win the game. These little decisions have huge impacts on the likelihood of winning. They set you up on a path to fail. He needs to get that through his thick head yesterday.

Worst case scenario, Kelly can't win it all and LSU fires him in 2 to 4 years while averaging 9 wins a year and the program on a solid foundation. At that point, any good hire will be inheriting a well run program.

When BK was hired Igavehim 5 seasons to make us an SEC contender. I still believe he will get us there. Of course, with his contract he is going nowhere for several more years.

We can still be 10-2 this year.
