If he's not back this week it's about time we all give up on him this year.

I’m starting to wonder if we’ll see him this year at all. I think you’re right. After looking past all the coach speak from Kelly and Co., I think we can give up on him this year if he doesn’t play this week. We might have to give up on him for this year anyway since he likely won’t be in mid season form with his lack of playing time.

They didnt want to rush Chris back. Completely healed to take on the SEC gaunlet we have left. We havent had any significant games that we needed him to risk more injury outside of USC. He’ll be ready to go

I think South Carolina was a pretty significant game considering we were down 17.

I gave up on Chris Hilton years ago. Best ability is availability and has never been available since he stepped on campus.

He was dressed for a game, didn't play and then was in street clothes the next week. Seems like he got injured again.

When was he dressed? I think you're confusing Kelly saying they expected him to play and him actually dressing.

He's a track guy playing football. Not a football player with track speed. There is a difference. The difference is generally in mindset. Track guys don't compete if there is any discomfort that they feel hinders their speed. Tweaks, soreness, etc. If they don't feel they can get to top speed they don't compete until they get to the point they can.

As a football player you have to be able to play through pain that you know probably limits you from being 100% healthy. You may not be able to get to your top speed. You acceleration may be hindered. It hurts when you get hit. But you play through it because that is what you have to do to play football.

This is Hilton's 4th season. He's been hurt more often than not. Perhaps that is simply bad luck. But I'd bet it's more likely that because straight line speed is his best attribute he's a guy that doesn't feel he can play unless he knows he can get to full speed and isn't going play with that ability limited in any way.

I would expect him to play Saturday. Could have gone against USA but didn’t need him and the risk wasn’t worth the reward.

I'm not sure if this is the right mindset or not, but at this point I don't even care if we get him back. I just don't believe one player, who has never given you a full season's worth of work in 4 years COMBINED, will make that much of a difference.
