I have difficulty believing that he is a worse QB than JD5.

Then you have difficulty believing your own eyes. We have all seen him play. The problem with this offense is the OL. They don't get push in the running game and can't protect the QB. The simple minded fan always thinks the back up QB is the answer. We have two true freshmen starting at tackle for Christ's sake.

Wow, what a novel concept.
Maybe he could even improve by playing in meaningful snaps? Maybe he'll get an opportunity because Daniels has had 40 starts to develop experience and improve, which is quite the advantage over Nussmeier.

I guess some of us believe that players are allowed to improve in practices too, and that should guide playing time.

Yep, all those 5+ second drops that Daniels ended up sacked totally the OL fault.

Yes and I think most would agree practice =/= games.

I would think most would agree that practice performance is the best predictor of game performance. It's not perfect but it's the best way to evaluate performance before things count.

I like that comment about relativity because Tennessee stacked the box and and was over aggressive because Daniels couldn’t hurt them.

They stacked the box and were overly aggressive because the left side of our line was injured.

Wrong. It's the same thing we've seen since week 1.

Because he's not the starting QB & has never proven that he's better than JD.

Such a simple concept that’s so difficult for so many to grasp. Then again we’re talking about Louisiana people.

With the way the O line played today, how do you think Nuss would have done with that pass rush? Daniels has the running ability but did not use it when he should have.

On the first down play after crossing the 50 with 45 seconds left in first half could have changed the game. Daniels stepped up in pocket. I was saying he should run. He had no one in front. Easily would have gotten a first down. He throws the ball and ball is tipped. Still could have been caught ( Nabors I think). He drops the ball which could have set LSU at first and goal. End up not getting any yards. Sacked on 4th and ultimately a FG for Tennessee.

Ultimately Tennessee was better today and Nuss would not have made a difference with the way the protection was.

The game was over and your staring QB is nicked and you don't pull him? Only one reason....the back up may come in a throw the ball down the field and make the coach look like an idiot. These old coaches have huge ego's

They did the same thing to Florida and if you go back and look at my post I said they’d do it to us. Richardson rose to the occasion and played incredible the difference for us was Daniels didn’t and can’t.

if Nuss is really so much inferior to JD5 why keep him?

So just cut him now?

Because Kelly had no reason to cut him when we don’t even have 85 scholarship players.

Again we have a fundamental difference. The OL did give him opportunities to throw. They were not good at all today, but had subs in at least two spots. JD had been the same awful week in and week out.

If the Oline is so bad at pass pro, they’re not btw, then why are we dropping the QB back 40-50 times a game?

Yeah, why not repeat the same futile thing in hopes of a different outcome? Makes sense.
