Him saying “the QB play was the bright spot” in the press conference means he’s either stupid or dishonest. Either way it’s bad.

It’s all relative though. What aspect of our play today do you think was better than the QB?

He’s never started a game before and relief appearances are very hard to judge. You can’t make an honest assessment until he gets starters prep and experience to know if he can do it.

That could be...but after how today went, it couldn't have hurt to give Nuss reps and allow Daniels to watch from the sideline.

I think the speed of the SEC is just too fast for Daniels. He's not use to defenders playing as tight of coverage and windows being so small. At this point, he's a finished product. I've seen ni improvement from game 1. With Nuss, maybe he improves with more playing time but we won't know if he rarely is given the opportunity. LSU looked bad today and the announcers commented on how Daniels has no clue whats going on pre-snap.

Either stupid or a liar. I lean toward the latter which is much, much worse.

Last game Nuss played in wrs dropped most to the passes that were catchable. The only reason he got to play was JD was hurt. Other wise he would not have seen that game experience.

Again, what aspect of our play was better? Special teams? Defense? Our blazing run game?

Historically backups play better in the backup role, when they're inserted in the game and the defense hasn't prepared for them. That's the entire reason behind the "everyone loves the backup" phenomenon. But you're suggesting that he'll be better in the starter role?

I like that comment about relativity because Tennessee stacked the box and and was over aggressive because Daniels couldn’t hurt them. Now you can go by the box score and say oh he did well but the point is to win the game and Tennessee showed us by how they played him that they didn’t believe he could beat them and they were right.

Do you have a point? JD5 has been awful the entire year. All of it. At least the defense has played some good games.

Yes. You’re just too stupid to understand the point.

“Historically backups play better in the backup role,”

Maybe you’re getting that from the NFL but just look in our own backyard with Jarrett Lee who was much better as a starter, Rohan Davey or Herb Tyler, also very good in relief of Howard. So your theory isn’t really accurate in college.

The reality is that neither of them are good. They did what most coaches would and went with the more experienced, mobile option. There's no reason we can't get QBs here, and it's been this way for several coaching cycles outside of Burrow. It's abysmal.
