I hope they snaz it up a bit b/c the initial renderings looked kind of boring.

Last year, they said it was about $350,000,000 to build. We have almost half of that tied up in O, Kelly and Kiffin.
Different funding avenues. In the world of LSU athletic financing and underwriting, the people or entities that fund coaches' salaries and construction projects are rarely in the same arena, pun intended. People or entities that fund large facility upgrades or additions are typically community-facing organizations, such as OLOL. High-dollar individual donors or donor groups usually fund buyouts ot salaries.

Yeah, I know Oakview is behind the concept plus a partnership with OLOL. Metro council tax district a go. Location a go. When do we hear about final designs and ground breaking. I know it’s a 3 year build

Hope not. LSU has plenty of things that need financial resources in front of an arena.

Yeah, all that dark gray seating kind of sucks the energy out of the space. I do like the wrap around jumbotrons though.

LSU is not funding this, Oakview is

So taxes will be used to offset the costs?

It’s still a golf course which is fine with me.

You must be clueless. The state of the art arena is being funded by a company that will foot the entire 400 million free of charge. It won’t cost a damn thing.
Yet we have idiots that fight it knowing absolutely nothing about the benefits for LSU.

And could have had about $50 million dollars more.

That’s not correct if they are being paid with tax dollars.

WRONG! Tax zone is only around the arena. If you don’t want to buy a coke, then you won’t get taxed.
Stop pretending like this is a tax throughout Baton Rouge! That is a lie!

Sales tax and hotel occupancy tax within the special tax district, yes.

Who said it was a tax throughout BR?
But you can not deny tax dollars are going to be used to help the developer build the arena,
How much? Does anyone know right now?
There’s a special tax district including LSU and surrounds.

That’s what I thought despite what was originally stated.
Now I’m not opposing the special tax district, but the dess as l initially was to be all private funds.
