You took the words right out of my mouth. Trying to get a room at Lod Cook is a pipe dream on home game weekends. I'm in the LSU Alumni Band and it has taken me major connections on several occasions to get a room just for that weekend.

By the way, I was in Seattle just last week on business and passed by U-Dub. It would have been nice if I could have seen it through the rain!

you should have a great time. I thought the experience up there was pretty good. It was on a few UW asshats that really spoiled it (we have those too). I won't lie I'm gonna have a chip on my shoulder based on how I got treated up there.

UW is a great place to watch a game. Incredible setting and those folks can bring the noise.

I doubt that I could add much else to anything that you've already read. Therefore, I'll just close by saying what I always tell first time visitors to Death Valley. If you leave hungry, shame on your azz.

man, I was fortunate enough to attend the game in 2009 and have to say, it was one of my favorite away games of all time...and since I attend most, that says a lot...since that weekend, one of my goals has been to get back to the seattle area to spend some time...

honestly, transportation around the game is gonna be a total clusterfrick compared to your home stadium...virtually no public transportation of any kind around LSU, so I would recommend you rent a car...

as for the tailgating, it stretches for miles in most every direction...you and your party are totally welcome to hang at my tailgate, so check back here when we get closer to the season and I will give you my contact info...

Not sure how nice they are, but LSU has a somewhat new hotel on campus. It's called Staybridge suites i think. I'm a student so i've never stayed there but it is literally on campus and is behind Walk-ons, which would be a great place to eat Friday night. If you stay anywhere else in BR it would work out but this would allow you to walk to tailgating without dealing with traffic. Hope you have a great time.

I only looked at Cooks since it was linked to on here. I'll check out that new place, I would rather just walk :)

Ugh, 5 more months... Tick tock. Tick tock

And holy frick that stadium is loud.

Husky Stadium, like a number of Pac 12 stadiums, has a steel roof that extends out over the stands (it's a rain thing), and the noise just reflects off of it and down toward the field. Absent that roof, the noise would be slightly above average. The Ducky fans in Jerry World were nothing special in terms of noise, and their stadium is very similar to UW's in this regard.

Just as I allow others to tell me about their area, I would ask you to bear with me as I explain Husky Stadium. If you look at the stadium, the overhangs do not cover the whole side (like Qwest field - now century link. The loudest NFL stadium which isn't even a dome!), only the upper deck. Also, they are only on the N/S side. The east and west are completely open.

I appreciate the kudos we have gotten from some of the fans that made the trip, Bc the noise and decibel level is something that we cherish. I would like to bring this to your attention. It's only a 15 second video:

I'm honored to just be on that list with the likes of these places (yours included). Tiger Stadium is one of the holy grails of college football which is why I'm leavin my wife on our 5 year anniversary and our (soon to be in Sept) 2 month old baby to visit it when my Dawgs come barking.

I will never discount the emotional investment and pride someone has in their facilities. That is why we follow the game. So, I will also not let you down play that we are at the top of that list! WOOF!

No, you'd smell the alcohol. Impossible to miss even if you are blind.

Seriously, if I were you I would dress in UW attire and hang out near people with a grill or boil setup. You will have to put up with chanting and such but you will eat and drink very well for free.

You will be invited to eat and drink at tailgates. Not much of that went on at UW.

if you were planning on partying after the game, the last thing you should do is go back to NOLA.. the heat/all day party/alcohol will make you just want to sleep when you get back.. so i'd recommend staying in BR for your whole trip

Had a great time in 2009. Was treated very well by the UW faithful. Funniest thing I encountered was the people in Seattle asking if there was an LSU convention in town. They couldn't understand why there were so many LSU people there to watch a football game. I will gladly feed a few UW fans. By the way, you can drink a beer on campus without the necessity of special licenses, permission, etc.

I'm not sure if ya'll even care enough, but we did start the discussion earlier.

Here is a good read about our current line woes...
LINK

If this situation doesn't get resolved quickly and some people step up on our OL (after we lost Chris Polk)... our OFF will be Tiger bait :(

Nervous!
