What is your crew's age range?
If you're in the 25-35 range, you're welcome to visit our tailgate. We typically have 75-100 people there. (not that we discriminate against older or younger, lol, just that's the age range of the majority of our people)

While in NOLA, I recommend having none of these or any of the other Bourbon St. gimmick drinks. Jesters etc. I know the hand grenade uses 180 proof grain alcohol, and the frozen one throws in a little cheap vodka so it will freeze. Also if you want to gamble, I'm not sure about in BR, but Harrahs just outside of the Quarter has horrible paying slots. It's the only casino in the tourist area so they can screw you 6 ways from Sunday and get away with it. Enjoy your trip and Geaux Tigers

South Stadium and Highland...close to Parker Coliseum (close to the lake, but on the Parker Coliseum side of S Stadium)
the Coliseum lot is free, and stayed free even with the changes, so we've always been content to stay there where everyone has the ability to park close to the tailgate. (of course that Lot is full by 11am usually)

Sweet! some Pac12 spots are ridiculous and horrible for hanging out. (Cal / U$C) and as much as I hate the *ucks, they have a pretty good gaiting scene.
I guess I would expect nothing less out of Tiger Stadium though... Really glad to hear it.
RE: Boy Howdy.. I'm a hick from WA, that's how I talk, not trying to make fun or anything. (Yes, they do have hicks in WA - I'll be in my cowboy hat)
Good looking out for the bus recommendations. I'm not sure of our number yet, so don't know if a party bus is in the cards. Plus, I would rather just soak it all in and not try and get blasted on the trip. I don't drink like I used to in college, and I've always wanted to experience an SEC school's atmosphere to see how we stack up.
Now onto the actual football debate: UW QB vs LSU Secondary. Ugh, that's a rough one. Price did amazing in his first year in the post Locker Era. Absolutely no argument there! My concern is this: We start Spring Practice today and with injuries from surgeries and such, we have 10 healthy OL. We have a decent size class coming in, but you cannot expect a frosh OL to start. The guys coming back from off season surgeries should be OK. However, they played last year, and our OL was just serviceable, it was by no means dominate. Also, we lost Chris Polk / Jermaine Kearse, Devin Agular. Those are 3 wicked contributers. Then you look over at our D, which was statistically the worst we have ever had last year. We do have a new coaching staff, but who knows how quick this situation resolves itself.
I'm usually an eternal optomist, but 10 OL heading into spring kind of made me cringe.

That's where I usually park. The last couple of years, the over/under on finding a spot to park in there has been about 9:30 AM. Except when they closed it for the 4-H crowd--really got screwed that day.

Yeah, it fills up fast, and will probably get worse with some of the parking changes. We typically go park on Friday evening and get everything squared away.

You're a serious PAC12 football program, and the environment, coaching, etc., will very likely result in your guys hanging around for the first half. Makes it exciting. After that, just enjoy the atmosphere--it's a hoot (to borrow another time-worn northwest expression).

You better learn how to again. That's how everyone drinks here, regardless of how old they are
ETA: Don't know if anyone has said this, but make sure you get into the stadium at least 30 minutes before kickoff. Our band's pregame show is unlike any other

Man, just reading through this stuff is getting me all riled up! I can take my ration like the rest of them. I would be happy to be Tiger bait... as long as you guys can handle the Dawg biting back! WOOF!
I think the mutual respect just stems from the colors and common ties and just expands from there. If we have this series again, you gotta come up here and go boat gating! We can drive our boats to the stadium!
I would gladly stop by and say "hi" and hang out! I just literally have no clue where ya'll are talking about!
Flight is booked, but hotels are not. I have been to NOLA 3 times in the past 2 years... I can deal with one less night on Bourbon if it means that Baton Rouge will be that much better (plus, if it's a night game I would probably head back to NOLA from the sounds of the recommendations). I'm glad I currently have this flexibility!
Also, for those that asked I'm 30YO, so right in the sweet spot of that age range :)

Probably more so because we love when y'all beat USC.

In that case I would recommend staying in Baton Rouge on Friday night. That way you can get out to campus early, but you can also spend that night here and find some good places to hang out here that night.

this. incase nobody has told you. Baton Rouge traffic is a fricking nightmare. Even more so on gameday. Sleep here friday night so you can get on campus earlier saturday.

Only downside to heading back to New Orleans is if you're driving, a DUI from the St. John Parish gendarmes is not what you want to experience.
May not know the game time until the TV networks announce schedules a couple weeks before, though it being a nonconference game (i.e., CBS isn't in the mix)increases the possibility for a 7PM start. ESPN is more likely to pick it up for prime
time, given the west coast audience.

campus map: (we are at the bottom right: purple area Parker Coliseum)...You can email me when the time gets closer for more info...jeffpowdrill@msn.com
Also, just FYI, the best way to get on campus GameDay morning from NOLA is to exit Acadian, go left, take it all the way to South Stadium and turn right.

Get on campus early. Wear your Washington colors, and there will be plenty of people offering you food and alcohol (lots and lots and lots of alcohol) interested in hearing about your trip/your school.
Take it all in. Fans like to brag about their school, but I can honestly say that there isn't a tailgate scene in the country that compares to LSU. It's on another level.
I'm so fricking sad that I graduate in May.

Personally, I'd recommend staying in Baton Rouge Friday night and driving back to NOLA Saturday night after the game. If you stay in NOLA friday night, you run the risk of two things: Staying out too late, resulting in your arrival to BR being too late (not to mention you might feel like crud Saturday if you drink too much Friday night).
Stay in Baton Rouge Friday night, go eat at the Chimes, party it up but get to bed at a decent hour, wake up Saturday morning rested and ready for an all-day party and head to campus.

Generally excellent advice. If you're staying at one of the numerous hotels in the vicinity of Corporate Blvd. (Marriott and others) there's a place on College Drive (which would be on your way to campus) that makes beignets almost as good as those at Cafe du Monde in the French Quarter. The ambience leaves a bit to be desired (it's next door to a Walmart)but you can buy the beignets and coffee, and take them over to campus and find a shady place under a stately oak (don't try to sit under a broad magnolia, however) and enjoy breakfast.
