LSu is in the SEC CG unless they lose to both Arky and A&M. OLE Miss ain't beating Bama

LSU can go 2-1 in the next 3 games and will be in

If LSU went 2-1, went to the conference title game and pulled off a win, the SEC Champion will not be in the playoffs. No way a 3-loss team gets into the final 4, even winning the SEC title. Not if the Big Ten champ is unbeaten, the Pac 12 champ is a one-loss, the Big XII champ is unbeaten and there's two one-loss SEC teams.

A 2-loss SEC Champion with a loss on a missed extra point would, however.

3 losses? No way, not even with a championship.

Not a single chance if we are SEC Champions.

It’s absolutely crazy to think this. There’s very little chance SEC Champ LSU finishes ranked ahead of 11-1 Tennessee.

If we run the table and TCU stays unbeaten that means one loss Georgia is out.

I think it plays out like so...
1. Georgia
2. USC
3. Michigan
4. TCU

Sorry but this is a terrible take. You even contradict yourself, you say Georiga is out but have them at #1 in your ranking. It implies that Michigan beats Ohio St which won't happen. USC is #9 and don't play anyone really left. TCU is likely to lose 1 game. ESPN gives them a 4% chance of winning out.

To be honest, if I were to say how not to do a final season rankings, it would be what you just typed.

Upcoming "tough" opponents for the top 8 (AP poll)

UGA; none
OSU; #3 UM
UM; #21 UI, #2 OSU
TCU; #18 UTx
UTenn; none
UO; #13 Utes
LSU; none
USC; #9 UCLA

We should hope the winner of the OSU / UM game wins big so we jump the loser.
Hope for Matthew McConaughey to beat TCU.
Hope for the Utah to beat the quacks.

If this happens we might be top 4 even before conference championships start

No my rankings are based upon my logic saying Georgia beats us. But if we do beat Georgia than they are out. Also, USC will have to play Oregon in December

Had a thread about this last night.

Compare 11-2 LSU, 12-1 UGA, 11-1 Tenn

It’s tough. Can’t make the argument that Tenn should go over UGA and very dicey to have us go over Tenn with how convincing they beat us at home. Would be nice if Tenn loses one they shouldn’t these next few games

Ohio State plays at Michigan on 11/26.

There’s 2 spots

The winner will have Illinois in the conf title game but UM has to face Illinois before that. We're Fighting Illini fans!!

Where do you put Tennessee? I would like to believe but they beat us 40-13 at home and will have one less loss.

Conference championships have very specific weight in the CFP criteria. Tennessee, Georgia and LSU would all be 1-1 against each other at that point. Head-to-head ceases to be a differentiator at that point. The conference title would put LSU ahead of Tennessee in the CFP. The poll rankings are irrelevant.

I kind of hate that losing the SEC championship game can kick you out of contention if you go in undefeated and #1/2 prior to that game. Uga has skins on the wall, it's not as if their entire schedule was a total cakewalk. If that were to happen to us we'd be furious. This year is shaping up to be another one of those wacky seasons, though I'll say we have some experience with such things.
