But IMO, Jennings shows some real nice touch on deep tosses.

I think he does better putting the ball out in front of people and letting the WR go and get it.

Look, I think Jennings has been taking the majority of snaps and rolling with the 1's way more than Harris. I think it is was clear that Harris had outplayed Jennings in the scrimmages but this is obviously the coaches decision. The coaches have their reasons I'm sure.

those screen passes that flutter forever and give me flashbacks of Jarrett Lee's pass getting taken to end zone by Gabe McKenzie in 2008.

and i think there were a few passes that weren't exactly put where the WR needed it.

sorry if not every pass was right on the money. Peyton Manning and Drew Brees make that mistake sometimes also, crappy QB's they must be.

Jennings settled down and did a good job last night. I was impressed with his passes hitting the receivers in stride and he didn't throw any questionable balls, except the one he tried to zing in to Quinn on the busted play.

I was proud of the way Jennings played last night. He did well. Harris will get there too, it was obvious he had the jitters - understandable.

If our play calling doesn't change and allow the offense to start opening up we're going to have a problem with teams stacking the box.

the offensive line was so bad in the first half. the more I watch, the more credit I have to give jennings. he had some inaccurate passes and his receivers dropped some balls, but his line let him down.

the line got blown up when harris came in and when fournette came in as well

He threw to Dural while he was double covered a few times last night. Thank the badger secondary for being awful. That will not work in the SEC. He was far from legit

Did you even watch the SEC play? Arky, Auburn, Bama, and Ole Miss looked horrible in the secondary, and that's only the ones who we play. I'm on wait and see with UF (so far, only Hargreaves is good), Kentucky, and MSU.

Just stop with the bullshite. I've seen Mett throw deep passes where Beckham had to go back to them last year, with defenders on him, and he still made the catch. I saw Mett throw passes straight to CBs and Landry had to fight for the ball. Nobody talks about that shite from a 5th year senior, but wants to jump all over this guy for doing it. Wisky has been ranked 17th and 18th respectively, the last two years in pass defense. You can't bullshite them about playing in the Big 10 because before last year, nearly all of the QBs in the SEC were mediocre at best.

Now that we got real QBs and modern day offensive schemes, the veil over the "SEC defense" has been lifted. It shows that they aren't much better than any other conference.

AJ came back like a Champion on Saturday under immense pressure. He is going to be fine.

Took a big set of "stones" to come back like he did on National TV.

He is just going to get better.

Harris was a bust...a "not ready for prime time player"...ugh!

I agree. I feel he threw the ball well. He threw some nice deep balls and got heat on it when he needed to. The touch pass, I believe, will improve. I am optimistic about him.

ETA: I will go as far to say I feel as good about Jennings as I have about any LSU QB in a while. I'm no expert but I think he will be regarded very highly by the time he leaves LSU.

Yea because it's not like JJ didn't play good in spring games then stink it up in the regualr games alot.

Spring game means nothing, there is no pressure and no pass rush or blitz schemes

Kids need to suck it up and accept the fact that Jennings is 2-0 starter.

Seriously are we really bitching about a true sophomore starting his second game of his career and opening against a damn good team on national TV? The kid fricking got the job done and stepped up when we needed him! Period. End of story! Get the frick over it.

I think people may forget how young this kid is

Jennings will likely continue to improve; however, I think college football has evolved to the point being 'young' is no longer an excuse. Seeing the way Hill dominated for A&M, or Winston last year @ Fl. St., more & more 1st year QB's are coming on as dominating as freshman or sophs. It is almost to the point you either have that 'it' factor when you step out on the field for the first time, or you don't. The drive last year against Arky & 'the pass' were amazing, but the Iowa bowl game left much to be desired. Saturday night was the case of 2 halfs- we need more of that second half play from AJ.
