Gotta remember that he's just a sophomore.

Percentage was a bit low last night but he was pretty damn accurate when he had the time. Fairly strong arm as well. I think the majority of the time he was scrambling was because the OL just wasn't giving him sufficient time.

I hope I'm not the only one saw he was a pretty capable QB for a true sophomore. I think people may forget how young this kid is. I see quite a few people were angry Harris wasn't put in more, but IMO, Jennings was solid and Harris wasn't needed.

I'm looking forward to see him the next few games to see how he progresses.

Of course this thread is for the sake of discussion. Kid could completely fold the next few games

He was better in the 2nd half when the coaches let him throw it a little more for sure. He still isn't that great of a runner and has poor pocket awareness. Hopefully that get's better.

I wish the coaches would have let Harris at least throw the ball once. His series was bad but it wasn't because of him. His 3 plays consisted of a reverse, which way too long, a zone read, and a drop back that had no chance of working bc our TE decided not to block the blitzing LB right in front of him.

Jennings played pretty good, bad o-line play and some bad play calls made him look bad at times but I was impressed

I agree, I think he settled down and played ok, better in the second half, obviously. I thought the o-line sacked up and did better giving him time and he made the best of it. Like most young QBs, he got a bit rattled under pressure, and it really showed on the screens. Those plays were open, and with better throws they get nice yardage.

Hopefully we get nice leads the next couple weeks and both QBs can get reps.

Yaa, I'm happy we play Sam Houston State next so that should give him more confidence and also give Harris a chance to play and get some type of experience.

The 3rd down play he was sacked was a pass play. His happy feet and panic got him sacked. Again, the OL sucked for three quarters

I really expected Harris to show up in the time he played, but it doesn't appear. Our playcalling was super conservative again

He took three snaps. The overreaction on this board both ways last night is ridiculous.

Jennings did what he needed to do last night. It takes time to settle in. His play last night at the start of the game wasn't what put the team behind. It was play calling.

I agree, I like what we saw from AJ last night. He stayed calm and worked through some adversity to make some good plays. He showed a good awareness of game situations and made good decisions. Once the screen game is ironed out, he will be fine.

Are you retarded, did you not see he had zero blocking also? I think Jennings did a good in 4th just don't say Harris was lost.

FYI...it's lost not loss there big guy

The 2 pt conversion, kid hit his rollout perfectly in a high pressure situation. Very well done

I meant I wish they would have kept him in until he actually passed the ball.

and there is no way you can blame that sack on Harris. The guy was in his face before he even completed his drop.

Luv the kids raw ability but dang his true freshmenship showed in his brief appearance.
Agreed on all counts!! Harris will have his day but not now.

For all the Harris supporters. It is better for LSU football if Jennings plays well enough to lead LSU. If Harris takes over the reigns now, Jennings is gone next year leaving a big hole.

I like his game. I think he can make most of the throws, he's mobile, he's hard nosed, and he appears to be under control and in charge (no delay penalties or pre-snap confusion). At least that's my day-after, rose-colored assessment.

Three terribly executed screen plays helped contribute to the low percentage; in the second half he made some really good intermediate throws and seemed more confident. That was encouraging.

He had a hard time calling plays in the huddle and had to waste a timeout. Im not hating on him, he just isnt ready to be the starting qb. He'lll get plenty of PT this year.
